Early this month, after a meeting with my Pastor (Rev Sam Adeyemi), I decided to buy 20 copies of the book – “The Tipping Point”, and make them available to all my colleagues. The meeting with him had been a really good one, I had briefed him about the New Nigeria Club, our passion, our vision, our motivation and methodologies. He was excited about what we were doing, and remarked that he believed that what we were doing had the potentials to “catch fire”. He also commented that it wasn’t an idea anymore, as we had started. He went ahead to pray for me, the visionary and for the New Nigeria Club. While we talked however, he remarked that he remembers reading the book titled – The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell, and that the book contained some interesting models for realizing our dream of a National Positive Epidemic. I told him I had read some of the book, and that some of our models were actually drawn from there. I however noted it in my mind, that I would not only read the book completely, I would encourage my colleagues to read it as well.
It’s only a few weeks since that meeting, and the book has gradually virtually taken over a good part of our vocabulary. We are consistently on the look out now, for what we can do, to tip every project that we are working on. One such concept was what we applied to our regular Sunday meetings, and all of a sudden from barely filling up a 250 sitter room, we are now desperately looking for a 1,500 sitter room. We tipped last week Sunday with filled to capacity room, for Financial Empowerment Seminar Series and next week Sunday, we are even taking bolder steps. This week Sunday we’ll be having part 2 of the Financial Empowerment Series, and we’ll be delving into details about how to become financially empowered with the vehicles of the Stock Market and Real Estate, and how to do it with little or zero capital.
Last week Sunday we had a very impressive line up. We had Clifford Clarke (A forex trading guru) give us a powerful introduction into Forex and Equities Trading. He shared his testimony on how the forex market had changed his life. There are indeed very few forex traders that can boast of building a 52 flats Estate, drive an ML Jeep and have millions of their personal money invested in Forex, Real Estate and the Stock Market. Cliff Shared his views on value of the information and experience gained while trading forex, and promised that the line up of sessions he will be giving in the next few weeks will be worth much more than is being paid for. The second speaker Femi Onagoruwa, tagged as the Oracle in Stockwatch, gave us a mouthwatering rendition about the possibilities in the Stock Market. He let us appreciate that starting from NOTHING a few years ago, he’s been able to achieve a lot from the stock market. Via proceeds from the stock market he’s happily married, drives a Lexus Jeep, lives in a high brow area, and still has millions of Naira in the market. Then we had Jedede Johnson give us a very interesting perspective about Network Marketing. He explained to us how whether we like it or not we were all involved in Network Marketing. We are always referring people to buy things from other people. He shared his story of how via his buying his Jeep from a car dealer, over 5 of his friends have since been referred to buy from the same dealer, and all he gets from the dealer does not even qualify as a thank you. He shared with us that Network Marketing is just doing what we have always done. We had Niyi Adesanya speak to us about making money via public speaking, he promised to share some secrets with us on things that have been useful to him. He told us that when he shares his secrets, he gets other secrets. I (Adeolu Akinyemi) spoke about making money with virtual capital. There are many people that don’t have money to invest, they are not cut out from wealth, if they know the way, they can make it big time, I gave few tips on how, and what has helped me. This is a session we’ll feature regularly in the coming weeks. I believe strongly that everyone who attends those sessions regularly and follows the instructions will be rich without doubt this year. I can take a bet on this :). We then had Debo Adejana, MD of Realty Properties speak to us about Real Estate Possibilities. It was mind blowing. For all who are interested, we have 2 Audio CDs that contains all the action. I capped it up by sharing with the attending public, the vision and achievements of the New Nigeria Club.
