hmm, great write up. i am so mad with the way we are behaving as citizens of this country and most imporatntly as youths. everyday, we keep on hearing worse and worst things because like chairman sai, negligence.everybody has several reasons why the government has failed. we know they have failed but what are we dooing about their failure?

Mark Twain onece said” There is no sadder sight than a young pessimist” pessimist is what majority of Nigerians have become. we do not think it can get better because of negligence. we run to churches and mosques daily in search of answers to prayers forgeting that we are the answers to that which we have been praying for. good leaders do not jumb from the sky. let us all rise to the occasion and let us try to make our votes count.

i believe that 2011 will be the beginning of another political revolution in our land. God bles this great country.

well we see another form of negligence in the death of 11 Nigerians at UCH Ibandan at the weekend. what do we say about this, whose fault? the problem that led to this we all know, who will respond to their cries? it pains me that people who could have contributed to the growth and advnacement of our dear nation just die because some people some where have refusde to fulfill their own part of the bargain. we need people that are sensitive to our weaknesses as a nation.

Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Anthony Enahoro, Dr. Nnamdi Azukiwe, Chief M K O Abiola, Pa. Samuel Akintola and others, (all late) fought for our independence but not freedom becaue today in this country of ours, we are not free but where is the wisdom that brought us independence in their children? where is concord airlines and newspapers, where is the M K O dynasty? and many more of the legacies they left? there are no where to be found. the wisdom that brought us independence in display? our voice will not cease until we are heard in the four cornres of this world that SOME PEOPLE SOME WHERE ARE STILL PASSIONATE ABOUT THE CHANGE NIGERIA NEEDS...trusted and efficient leaders. I am sure on the Lord’s side. I agree completely with this vision and I’m willing to pursue it God helping us. This nation must become transformed. I get so bitter each time I see our police officers(those meant to be protecting lives and properties) harrass citizens and extort money from them or get delayed for no reason on the road in broad daylight. I get bitter at all the corruption I see around. We need those who can cause the change we need. 2011 must be different.

Deolu, its really good that you would write this post so soon after the last one on Pastor EA Adeboye. When I read that post, I just left this site shaking my head. It was that much thought provoking.

I know that the whitest, purest lilies grow out of the dirtiest, stagnant swamps but I couldn’t understand why out of over 140 million Naija people, there can be only one ‘influential’ person known to the world. Our swamp should abound with lilies! Why?

It is because we are not awake to our own power as leaders. We have abdicated our responsibilities to charlatans who exercise power on our behalf as they will. We have refused to lead and are now being ruled by those who do not appreciate power.

It is indeed, our fault.
