4 Useful Tools to Achieve More

Everyday, I’m learning, in fact I’m currently on a 30 day course! One of the demands of this course is that whatever it is I’m learning, I take the diligence to also give back and teach others. Remember you have not truly learnt a thing until you have taught someone else. Education analysts say that what you teach others get’s retained about 90% more.

Despite the fact that there is so much activity going on these days, I am deliberately learning, and pushing myself. None of us has an excuse. The day we stop learning is the day we start dying.

Please pay attention to the four tools below, they may wear new names (that’s courtesy of Robin Sharma who’s training I’m in), but they are timeless tools that if you use can really help you to achieve more. Watch out though, whatever you do not put time action steps to execute within the next 24hrs is lost. All you read of these tools will be useless to you tomorrow, if you don’t determine to act on them immediately and if you don’t determine to teach someone else and hold yourself accountable.

Tool 1: Ideation
Everything begins with a thought. Have a dream book, it’s like a vision board in a book. Create things that have to do with all the areas of wealth (lifestyle, health). Start creating pictures and ideas of the life you want to live. Images impress the subconscious mind and gives you more power and clarity.

Question: The Dream book, by when will you have done this?

Tool 2: Visualization
Visualization is very powerful. Form a holy hour, close your eyes and see the pictures of your ideal images in the various aspects of life. Create a mental video of the life of your dreams, and take time out to watch it daily. Don’t watch it flatly, watch it with emotions.

Question: The holy hour, when will you start this?

Tool 3: Verbalization
Words are higher levels of thought. Whatever you say to yourself consistently your subconscious begins to believe. Whatever your subconscious believes will soon become your reality. Develop a leadership vocabulary, develop the vocabulary of the world class.

Sample Daily Declarations

Everyday and in every way I’m getting better and better and stronger and stronger. (or healthier and healthier or richer and richer or better and better as a leader, or happier and happier, whatever you want to work on).

I’m joyfully creating a world class business and joyfully creating a world class life.

Clean up your language, don’t finish yourself with careless words. Never say my business is going down, except you really want it to go down! Use your mind and emotions to feel your words. You need to connect your emotions, they are powerful, emotions have no limits, the mind is the limiter. Your emotions are liberators! Be emotionally invested in your projects. Greatness comes from passion and beneath the passion is emotions.

Repeating declarations about 100 times daily is powerful!

Question: When will you start holding yourself accountable to 100 declarations per day?

Tool 4: Materialization
Act on your big ideas. Small daily improvements over time lead to sterling results. Do 5 little things each day. Start today. DIN – Do it Now! Be an action person. The difference between you and your next level, is your commitment to action!

Question: Your daily 5 things to do to develop your business, when will you write them, and when will you start acting on them?

Lessons from Egypt

There is so much to see about Egypt, interestingly there is so much to say as well. The Egyptian civilization is the oldest dated civilization. They have islands and temples that date back to 5000BC. Some of the sites are breath taking and some of the history, mind boggling. Egypt has managed to preserve a lot of it’s history, maximize the use of the Nile and  sufficiently diversify it’s sources of income.

One thing you cannot but notice about Egypt however is how grossly similar with Nigeria Egypt is. I have traveled to a few countries, but I’m yet to see so much similarity. Egypt also is a land so blessed, but it’s people so poor. When I listened to our tour guide describe Egypt, and the resources he knows that Egypt has, my mind wanders freely back to my country. I’m not every normal vacationer in Egypt, my eyes are covered with the lens of my nations transformation. Wherever I go, one this is on my mind – what as a Nation can we learn from these other countries to better the lot of our nation Nigeria? So, today, from the Land of the Pharaohs, from the land where life after death means more than life on earth, from the land of many temples and rich history, I bring you Lessons from Egypt! Do More

I was reading a story some days ago that I had read before, but it struck me in a new way! It is a proverb, that when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. I have noticed this a lot in my life. That what I have seen before takes on new meaning because of the experiences that I am having. I know for how long I drove in the car with my dad for example, without paying attention to how the car was driven. It came to a time however, that the student in me was so ready, that everything that was done became a lesson for me. We are at various points in our journey, and the stories told today may not be relevant to you today, but keep them close to your heart, for as soon as the student in you is ready, the teacher will appear!

In this story, a prophet was about to die, this prophet was not a fake prophet, he was a real prophet. He was real in that he had said different things and they had come to pass, he had also done many great works, and miracles and signs. He was a respected and highly revered prophet in the land, and even the king was installed by him. On his death bed, the king came to him, and sought for him to bless him this last time. To appeal to his emotions, the king said the same words that the prophet uttered when his own mentor was departing. The prophet was touched, he decided to bless the king, but not in the conventional way of blessing, he requested that the king perform some acts of symbolism as a channel for his blessings. What you are about to read, is the strategy for ensuring that that which is yours in potential, reaches you in reality. Enjoy Continue reading

Essential Development Goals

Development is one of the segments of my yearly goals. I usually try to have something that covers every part of my being- spirit, soul and body. In case you don’t I suggest you plan to have that this year. Make sure that your goals touch every area of your life and focus on specific areas, I’ll recommend that ordinarily spiritual goals ought to be priority. When we seek first God’s kingdom, all other things are added. Today for example I am just completing my 365 days fast, that’s a spiritual goal that I set and the purpose was to keep me in tune with God’s direction for my life and keep me involved and active. I might not be able to justify the reasons to you, but the fruits of a consecrated life are evident – now and in time.

Today however my primary focus will not be on your spiritual goals. By all means set them. Have a commitment to fellowship with God, to have daily devotion, to be kinder, more impactful to others, to add more value, to be a blessing. These are by far the most important things in my life. The ultimate test of faith is not “what does my faith do for me?”, but what does it make me do for others?” Your spirual goals set the pace, but it’s your developmental goals, which are partly spiritual but largely soulish are the things that get you equipped to deliver your spiritual goals more effectively and efficiently. As you advance into the year ahead, here are a few things you must strive to achieve, and do not forget!

Secret Fomular to Getting Lucky

The first question ought to be, what is luck, does it exist? If it doesn’t, then what are we talking about? If it does, then how can we be lucky? Is there really a secret fomular for luck?

All these, reminds me of an occurence that happened lately, I had an opportunity to relay it with a team of people in the UK last week, and it dawned on me that it really was an interesting occurrence. We had BIT (Billionaires in Training) in Lagos Nigeria and after the event, we had our normal recap. For those who do not know, the major highlight of the BIT is an opportunity for people to network, play a fun game of Cashflow 101, do an extensive recap of the learnings from the game and share real life opportunities we can all partake of to make it out of the rat race. It’s usually an exciting time, and an opportunity to meet new people.

In this particular BIT, we were doing the recap and someone noted that he observed that in the game as in life, there was a lot of luck involved. He mentioned that he noticed that a particular couple were very lucky. They seemed to get the right opportunities, throw the right scores, they definitely had luck.

When it was the lucky couples turn to respond, the answer was shocking and interesting ;) Continue reading

The Parable of the Apsiring Gorilla

Many people who have heard me speak, know that I am a story teller. I love stories, I enjoy hearing them as much as I enjoy sharing them. I have often discovered also that people love stories as well, so somehow we connect, and 5yrs after I speak somewhere, I still meet people that remind me of the stories that I told them. This shows me that story telling does work. While writing a story and telling them are two different things, I very well prefer to tell than to write, because in telling I get to feel the crowds pulse, read their excitement, follow the twists and turns, and tell the story in a unique way for every crowd. On Sunday I was opportuned to present this story before a crowd of about 1000 people, and truthfully, even I enjoyed the story in a different way.

Once upon a time, there was a young man. This young man had a dream, a goal an aspiration that one day he would become the number 1 clown in his country. He had gone for a seminar where he had been thought to analyze his skills and write down his goal and vision, and for him, it all pointed to being a clown of repute. As soon as he discovered this, he started searching for materials on clowning, and started reading and developing himself in earnest. He went to watch other clowns perform, interacted with a few people about his dreams and invested heavily in developing himself. Continue reading
