“Last month’s winner was, Ikotun Adebisi, he wins a hosting account with nairahost and a pack of 200 minibooks to do with as he pleases – pls Join me in Congratulating him”

I’m currently writing from somewhere under OAU Ife health sciences building, and it’s 1.01am. It’s been unduely long since I had internet access, and it’s alse been a long tiring day. I moved straight from the Aiport from Abuja to Ife, yesterday, and it was a very long journey. I went in the company of a team of great people, My Wife (Temitope Akinyemi), Christian Love and Joshua Adeyemi. We set out from Lagos at 4pm only to arrive at OAU ife at after 2.00am in the morning. I’m greatly troubled for this nation, that what we have refused to solve collectively is beginning to hunt us individually. May we rise up and connect!
The journey was filled with loads of intruiges that culminated in a totally trapping situation when in the pitch dark night in the middle of nowhere, we suddently entered a ditch and lost two tires! We had only one spare tire and were trapped for sure, it was dark all around, and there was this sensing in the air, that if we waited too long where our tires went flat, we might discover the people that are responsible for setting the trap if any. With two tires down and only one spare, we decided to keep moving on against all odds, and in that journey of 10hrs (sufficient time to fly to the US direct). In that journey however, there are key lessons to learn and apply to life. Continue Reading »

“Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more” – Anthony Robbins.
I have been extremely busy in the last few days, travel, meeting, e.t.c. I’ve been unable to sit down and craft out the thoughts of my heart. I have many pending things to say, and as I write this morning, my heart is being tugged into many directions. I hope I’m able to withstand the temptation of writing 3 articles within the next 2 days J.
I read a story sometime ago, about a young lad who was caught by the police for snatching a wallet with less than $10. He was caught, kept in custody for a while and later arraigned before a juvenile court. When the judge asked him weeks later, why he had stolen the wallet, the young lad replied, “because the world owes me a living”. Apparently he had grown to buy the philosophy freely expressed in his environment. That we did not ask to be in this world, and hence the world owes us a living. Of course if you live in the west, it probably is easier to develop this mind frame, even the way the governments operate, it’s easy for the people to feel they are entitled to somethings. Interestingly however, we who live in the side of the world where our government makes it clear that we are not entitled to anything, still live like we are. We waste our time and energies demanding and hoping for entitlements! Continue Reading »

I’m sure this will create different answers in different minds. Is there a game that can be classified as the greatest? Is it football, hockey, golf, cricket or basket ball? Or is it one of those not too popular games that has been discovered to have the capacity to excite and fascinate us the most? Which is the greatest game on earth, and what are the parameters that make it so? Do we measure by the thrills? The population of the world actively engaged in the game or it’s process? The degree by which our lives are affected by them or do we use statistics from opinion polls?
Whatever it is that we chose to use however, certain facts are undeniable. Football is a game that has the capacity to literally arrest a great percentage of the world in front of their television sets. More people in the world play golf and football more than any game. The thrill and the followership of basketball in America and increasingly globally is on the increase. The fanatic support of teams, of stars and of championships is tending towards idolatory. The games have become a rallying point of our social lives, we spend days watching, spend hours talking, minutes updating the scores and seconds rejoicing. These games are great, but none of them qualifies as the greatest game in the world. Continue Reading »

I want to use this opportunity to congratulate all my readers on the history making event that the world just witnessed. Obama has emerged as America’s 44th President! On the 4th day of the 11th month, multiplied together to equal 44, Barack Obama, becomes America’s 44th President! In a race that lasted 21months, taking off from the cold winter night, and coming into reality in an autum night, history was made, but not only was history made, Barack Obama emerged the biggest brand alive! I also congratulate my friend and brother, Barack Obama.
He inspired hope in the youth, I rallied the races together, he stood on the shoulders of the achievement of Martin Luther King Juniour and all those who ever raised the issue of equality in America, and yes, he did, and yes we can! Beyond all the sentiments of hope, the conversion of the highest non voters turned voters in the history of America and the execution of the most expensive election America ever had, Barack Obama has set up a challenge to the world! This challenge is simple and direct. “You have no excuse in colour, race or background for the achievement of any ideal you have as a dream! Obama shares the same birth day date with me, and stares me in the eye as an intellectual and life challenge, am I just 16yrs behind in age or more? Continue Reading »

Everyday, I get one mail, text or call or the other, that helps me know that people value my little contribution, and believe me, it’s encouraging. I don’t want to live a normal life, of grow, marry, give birth and die. I want to add value, to change lives, to bring hope, to bring help, to save, to provide to leave a legacy.
I got this mail forwarded to me by Praise Fowowe on feedback from Sex2Sex conference, and if this was the only mail and feedback from the event, I think the event is well worth it. Trust me, there is no kidding the kind of pressure that is mounted on young people. How the world migrated from a time when it was honorable to be chaste to one where being a virgin is something to be shy of amazes me. The world is on it’s head, man is dysfunctional! But before we get too far in analyzing that, read the reason why this title. It’s here and uncut!

The times we are in are very eventful. You must have observed that I haven’t been writing so consistently, I’m sorry, I’ll step up the game, and revert to inundating you with my posts. I sometimes get tempted not to write, but I know that these times must be documented, for what we do today, is tomorrow’s story. Are you concious of the story you are writing with your life? In the upper week, I was in the UK for another BIT session, last week (Sept 30), I had an opportunity of going to talk about Nigeria to a Redeem Church in Ogudu, On the first, I spent two hours at the radio station (Eko FM) encouraging people on Nigeria. Over this just concluded weekend, I was opportuned to go to UNAB for a seminar, made it to Ibadan for the night, and woke early and headed for OAU ife, where I had the opportunity of sharing some thoughts, together with a team of colleagues, with four fellowship gatherings. These are demanding times, but there is no salvation without the cross.
Have you ever been in a condition before where it is so proper to say the wrong things? Where complaining, lamenting, expressing frustration, anger are the norms on your lips? Have you ever been in a condition, where you know that you ought to thank God, but it’s so freaking difficult? Or are you currently in the midst of such a time? Don’t sucuumb to those negative feelings or thoughts. These are the times to offer the sacrifice of praise. Continue Reading »
