Hmmm....
That means luck is only on the lips and vocabulary of ignorants and lazy people because success in any endeavour is the outcome hardwork that an achieves went through.

To buttress the comment I made earlier, you are what you continually do and success is the end-result of a process. So, again I say there no luck anywhere. Thank you!

thank u sir for this wonderful piece again.u really always inspire me.i usually think because some people are beautiful, priviledged to be born by wealthy parents, grew up in the right environment, they are lucky but over time, i learnt otherwise that you create your own world through you positive actions.it is only ignorance of the truth that will make a person think that luck actually exists. because of this 'luck', many are lazy not wanting to try hard enough to get to the top.like someone said that opportunity comes the way of evryone. he who is prepared enough and takes the chance is termed lucky.may God bless you and our Great country naija.

hmmm... luck... i definitely agree with the luck that is created by each and everyone of us, where our deeds today turn into our realities tomorrow, karma as some people call it. but i also believe in the higher level of luck that greases the path of the luck we create: when you've prepared hard and done all the hard work, and on the final day of reckoning, your competition is out of the race because they came down with a nasty fever; when you struggle to get on a bus but still miss it for whatever reason only to later learn it was involved in a fatal accident; when you are all set for a 5-day out of town trip and miss the first bus because you forgot something important and had to return home only to get there and see all the fuses in your house had started exploding, enabling you call for help just in time before it escalated into a fire. Those are the little mercies of God in our lives, when in spite of ourselves, we're saved from extremely negative events. Those we cannot take for granted as being by our own doing, and we always have to give thanks to the Most High for blessing us so.

When you equip yourself and you make use of an opportunity when it comes along, people say you 'just got lucky'. Now those same people probably didnt encourage you when you were gathering all those skills and knowledge and most likely thought you were wasting your time.

I concurr, Olufemi. A lot about this piece is right but i think u left one point out, Deolu. I figure that opportunity comes d way of everyone, prepared or not.Its he who is prepared and takes advantage of such that is considered lucky.
Even in all this, its a valid fact that there's an unseen element of ur will power attracting to you the things you desire strongly enough...

Well, this piece is great, I don't really believe so much in luck too, but since there are so many things we will never understand given our human nature, we still will forever awe at some things which are simply beyond our comprehension, the bible says something about time for everything in the book of Ecclesiastes, but it also says somewhere about "time and chance happening to most things we do in life" do not get me wrong, i am not saying we must wait for luck but when we simply cannot explain certain things, then the God factor must be the only plausible explanation. this, most people refer to as luck

Luck?! Indeed its what we don't understand that we call lucky. You can choose to be "lucky" and you can choose to be prepared for the opportunities that will come. Either way it goes, we just must get out of the rat race!
Great piece CM!
