Ok..1stly, sign of posrregs, sure. But could it have been that the court actually brought justice just because it was recorded for the world to see and there was no way they could stay silent about it? There have been so many cases of police/navy brutality and when taken to court, it would be ruled out like it's no man's business. Anyway sha, i'll just give them the benefit of the doubt for this one.2ndly, aren't the abusers going to prison?!lol@psychiatrist observation. They seriously need it!

If it was an act of war, why should there be a trial at all? The post WWII trials of enemy military leadeship were for violations of the rules of war, not for the act of planning and carrying out an attack on Pearl Harbor. We tried the Germans for war crimes too, and did not include charges related to missle attacks targeted at civilians in London.I don’t judge 9/11 to be an act of war any more than I judge the Libyan disco bombing or the Oklahoma City Federal Building bombing to be acts of war. They were terrorists acts, crimes. The only thing differentiates those crimes and 9/11 is the scale.My bigger point is that the decision to try KSM at Guantanamo wasn’t based on the distinction you raise. It was based on fear that our intitutions would prove to be inadequate. I certainly agree that there would be problems with the evidence. If we tortured KSM then there SHOULD be problems with the evidence… if we believe in our system of justice. Do we? I don’t much care about limiting embarassment to the United States if there is something to be embarrassed about. That’s the sort of core principle I think we are violating.
