I Love You
When was the last time you heard those words and it caused your heart to skip a beat? When was the last time you uttered it with sincerity and humility? Well, I don’t know what page of life you are on, or where in your journey you have reached, but one thing that is clear to me, is that, that word love is the most powerful virtue that exists.
I’m far away from town, have been for some days now. I can’t write much, I’m being timed and I have loads of work to complete. I ran here when no one was looking :). You know why? Because I love you, yes you, even you.
Everytime you come here, I know it. Every time you inform a friend I’m aware. I’m not into magic, it’s pure science. Writing here for me is a duty, a duty born out of love to see you grow. It’s what I live for. To be your partner in success is my success.
If it’s been long you heard these words, say them loud for yourself to hear. I love you! It is your persistence that keeps me on, your belief that makes me run, and your encourgements that keep me motivated. Thanks for all the numerous comments from those who come here daily. Thanks, that’s all I have for you today, but I am confident that before long, you’ll have gotten more than I could every have imagined offering.
I love you!
By the way, the experiement just started for me again…I mistakenly ate meat again on saturday. (How come it always happens when I’m out of my terrain? How come it always happens after I have spoken at a seminar? I think I know why, I loose myself so much in those meetings, that the only thing that matters is giving my best…now I don’t know if that is a good thing) So friends, this is day 2 again!

Like I was writing…I got two calls for good things that required me to move in different directions. It occured to me that life was what we made of it. It’s a function of choice!
I also forgot about my 30 days trial for the brief moment I was to speak. I was given a meat pie which I ignored for a while, only to nible off a corner of it later. I had started speaking when I realized that my trial had been affected. I made up my mind that even though I had dodged fantatic meals, I was going to start again. Today is day 3!
That’s what accountability does to you, it makes you responsible, and disciplined!
I left Katsina at 4pm, if I was ever going to make my flight for 5:05pm the driver needed to have an helicopter. I actually negotiated for him to make it in 1hr. I also prayed that the flight would be slightly delayed. I got to Kano at 5:30pm and the plane had not arrived, it was delayed for 1hr.
Key highlights that made the events really interesting - I saw afresh that we have a role to play in the options we choose. Our options determine our future. No matter how rough things are today, make up your mind what you want to stand for, and stand for it! It’s only a matter of time.
There are times when you doubt the authenticity of what you have, if you really believe in what you have, keep believing still. Every creation started first as an idea that was believed. If you don’t have the appeal you think you should have, it’s because it was you are presently doing it for the wrong people. If you are not seeing the results you expect to see, it’s because there is one element in your process that is missing. You can get back on track.

Today has been one of the most interesting days in my life! I don’t know if I can actually capture the full story of this via this medium, but I’ll touch it in bits and hope that perhaps you’ll learn a thing or two.
Yesterday ended in high spirits, I had gotten a life time priviledge of speaking in the same event with one of the men I respect most in Nigeria - Tayo Aderinokun (MD-GTBank). When I finished speaking I felt like one of those “eureka” moments. That moment when your hardwork finally gets recognised. It is said that behind every “eureka” moment lies nights of struggle and preparation. Believe me, there were many things said about my speech then that if I wrote here would make me look too good - So i won’t (Maybe some day later). A good part of the rest of the day was spent reminiscing about the event in Ife, and preparing for the one for today, in Katsina.
I’m writing from Katsina at the moment. The aircraft was delayed for 1hr - Thank God! I came in late. It’s 6:39pm now, and we are expecting the plane anytime from now.
I headed for Katsina in the early hours of today, to attend a corpers seminar and speak to them about building leverages for the next level. I had spoken about two hours when a call came in that my flight was one hour earlier than I planned. I was touched when I discovered that all the faces went sober, they wanted me to continue. I love such thirst for knowledge. To the corpers in Katsina, that waited a day behind to hear me speak, I’m excited on your behalf about your futures.
On my way to katsina from kano this morning - I got two calls. Two calls that showed me very clearly that my future is mine to choose. I won’t go into the details of these calls, but they were both good calls but in opposite directions, not one positive, and the other negative, but both positive but requiring different things….to be continued…the flight just came in.

T.E.A.M - Together, Each Achieves More!
Synergy of efforts is very powerful. Where one can chase one thousand, two can put ten thousand to flight. 1+1 is not 2. The summation of two good heads is better than two. When we walk as many, our presence carries more worth.
Doing this exercise with a number of people I have identified now for example, gives me a lot more motivation to continue. Today I said no to delicious Yola chicken! The chicken looked like bush meat, a delicacy to behold! Alhaja Rakia could not believe that I would not partake of this special treat, but no! Not when I have those of you who have joined in this collective bid for the 30 day trial. Not wanting to let down the team, each player puts in his/her best.
We need to learn to leverage the power of synergy. To work as a team with common objectives yet differing skills. Back in school, when you ask for expo in an examination it was an offence (it still is), but in real life, you need to ask for help, you need your brother, you need your sister, you need to have people you can depend on.
Today, I taught networking to some 5Oyr olds, some of them wrote as comments, that this was the best seminar they have attended in their lives. I was tripped, and encouraged. Don’t wait till you are old to learn the lessons that can make you rise above the crowd. Don’t go solo, make the team.
Today it was easier to continue…who is with me?

Today I’m posting from Yola! I was half merely optimistic that I’ll be able to post, but you know how opportunities come to those who are prepared
Yesterday went well, I flew to Yola via abuja, the diets in the plane were vegetarian
My supper was where I had to make a choice, and guess what, the world is watching, so I must make my target, and so must you.
The first few days of starting a new habit are the only times when it’s really though. As soon as you cross the one week mark, things almost switch to autopilot until after another while. In physics, we were made to understand that the force requires to move a stationary object is more than the force required to keep it moving. The coefficient of static friction is greater than the coefficient of kinetic friction. More is required to start than to maintain.
What are you trying hard to achieve? Are you starting a business and it feels like you need to work 18hrs to keep it afloat? Welcome to the real world, it’s the beginning phase, it’s where inertia has to be overcome. Are you starting a career and does it seem like you are getting bored too soon? It’s inertia. Have you had an idea for so long and done nothing about it? It’s inertia. It’s the force that keeps the average average. It’s the barrier to motion and the limitation to acceleration. Get over your inertia, dare to start!

Everything went well for day 2, still hanging on to the commitment. Had a go at actually saying No! yesterday, I had to pass on a food I really enjoy to stick to it. It’s feeling like a really small goal, this vegetarian diet thingie. I’m tempted to add more things to the plate. I’ll take it easy though, and bring more in as the time passes.
Change or upgrade will never happen accidentally, it will happen by concious endeavor and concious action. Weeds are the only things that grow without conciousness, every good fruit is a result of sowing.

I re-read an article 2 days ago, that really motivated me into action. As a result of this article, i have decided to make some concious effort to gradually upgrade my life. I will be using the 30 day trial method to validate a number of disciplines. This is very similar to the software purchase method, you are given the software (trial version) to try for 15-30 days after which you can make a buying decision. Rather than take a position on some grey areas that no one is confident about their being good or bad, being right or wrong, isn’t it just good to try some out? If in doubt, it’s a good way to try and perhaps be sure.
The 30 day trial is also a great way to develop yourself, it’s an easier decision to make than a lifetime decision, it’s long enough for a habit to form, makes it easier to start or continue and it helps you overcome inertia.
The first 30 days experiment I’ll be starting is going on a vegetarian diet for the next 30 days. According to my mentor in the 30 days trial programme, he really benefited a lot from this exercise as it increased his energy levels and awareness. Is this going to be true for me? Let’s find out.
Mark Twain is quoted as saying, “he that pulls a cat by the tail learns a lesson he can learn no other way”. I just completed my first day yesterday (It’s 5am already and I should be waking up in the next 1hr - woke up 2hrs ago, but must still take one more hour ;).
This is also an invitation to as many as want to try out this 30 day trial on any area of their lives to join me. You might lag by a few days, but the community energy is worth harnessing. Yours might be a 30 day trial to read an hour a day like I do, it could be to skip TV, it could be to exercise for 30 mins daily, to write in your journal everyday, meet someone new everyday e.t.c. You can add your comments here and keep log with me on a daily basis.
Day 1 Log
Nothing strange today, it felt like every normal day. I saw meat and fish once today and smiled, everybody ate a meal that didn’t require meat and it’s day 1, didn’t expect much.

The party was attended by 20 Senior Guests and about 100 youths - Boys and girls ranging between 5 and 19yrs old. The youths all had one thing in common, their mum…Rev (Mrs.) Dele George! A woman I have come to respect more and more in the last few weeks. All the young people were moved from the branches of little saints orphanages in Akowonjo (boys) and Ogudu (girls), all the boys could not make it because their bus could only take as much.

I arrived at little saints around half past three, to meet with Rev Mrs and the children ahead of when the guests would arrive. They had made all the arrangements for the birthday based on our previous discussions. One thing that nevers ceases to amaze me is how beautiful all these children look. If you didn’t come to Palmgrove to see them, you would not believe that they were orphans. Some of the guests were asking questions like, “it’s not all of them that are orphans or is it?” They are all beautiful confident children with a truckload of talents.

The party began in earnest, after we (Rev Mrs and Myself) selected the two ladies from amongst them who would be MC’s for the occassion (and before I forget…Oprah winfery would have been pleasantly suprised - they were excellent). The program moved from one smiles to laughter, as we moved from singing, to dancing competitions, to fashion parade and on an on. The Children had fun, and gave fun. We paused the event for a while to download some of the food that had been prepared for the event, this ended with a call of 10 adults to the hot seat.
The adults were tested, questioned and made to give the teeming crowd of youngsters and sitting adults some good entertainment. One would have wondered who coached this youngsters on what to ask and how to ask, but they did a beautiful job, all by themselves. Some adult guests sang, some recited poems, some danced and some were asked questions about life and what to do and not to do. Back there in the crowd, I had the time of my life. The children were happy, the adults were blessed. I celebrated my birthday, helped the needy and shared fun with others all in one blow. God was pleased with me, and I was glad. Yes, and people also learnt a bit about the power of giving, the visitors indeed came with their ticket fares, and we were able to make a little contribution to the orphanage.

It’s so interesting how some things are just dawning on me now…It is really better to celebrate your birthday with people who cannot give you gifts in return, this way your gifts do not come from men. It’s good to celebrate with people who really need the celebration. I can’t explain to you how it feels, but be rest assured that if you do yours in a similar way, feel free to invite me! It’s a feeling I’ll repeat everyday if I can.
We who have, have the responsibility to provide for those, who without a choice of their own do not have.
The only life worth living is that lived for others. What can you do to make life better for someone else?

One of the strangest things happened to me yesterday. It’s 4am already and the beginning of a new day. All of a sudden on my birthday, my website will not just load. Mails sent to me were bouncing back. I couldn’t upload current vacancies. It was tiring, trying and chaotic!
But as usual, at the end of every dark alley is a light. Sorrow may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning. The site registeration actually expired. The site is back to life now, and has a new birthday, my birthday!
The past few days have been fantastic, a group of us were together in Ife for 180 degrees. We thought it was a life changing seminar, we couldn’t have been more convinced. We left Ife with people taking ownership of their lives. Whoever calls the shots in your life has control. The birthing place of excuses is on the altar of i’m not in charge. Who is the captain, who calls the shots. You have a choice, you are only as limited as the meeting point of your imagination and ignorance.
We also had a great time teaching people the rudiments of blogging, we are starting a revolution, and arming this next generation with the powers to be in control of their destinies.
It felt great to be a part of it. The appreciation, the feeling of adding value, the enlightened look on the faces, and the warm thank you handshakes and hugs. If I had an opportunity to live it all again. I will go this route again.
I want to thank God, the giver of life for the opportunity of a new day and a New year! I’m also using this medium to thank all those who called me, sent me a text message, mailed me, God will remember you. Feel free to resend the mails that bounced back. I appreciate you.
I’m looking forward to celebrating my birthday at Little saints orphanage, palmgrove today. There about 120 children between the ages of 0 and 20yrs. Please come with gifts just for the kids. I foresee a lovely day! I also have another seminar today, PEER energy.
The site is back to life, and so am I.

Today I was at the burial of the mum of a friend. At the young age of 55, she had passed away. It was an event with mixed feelings, she had lived a great life, had children and grand children, but she was still gone too soon.
Yesterday night was the wake keeping, friends and family gather together, sang songs and talked about the life she lived. Amidst all the tears, talks and sober hymns, one question was consistent in my mind -What counts??
I listened to the testimonies of the people who could brave to speak, with watery eyes and shaky voices. One by one they recounted the parts of her life that touched theirs. I listened to hear if I’ll hear people speak about the things we daily chase -How many houses, cars, food, shelter, material possession, shares (all good things don’t get me wrong), but nobody spoke of these things. Everybody that spoke talked about the many ways in which she added value, in which her life touched theirs, in which they are forever better for associating with her. They spoke about how her life touched theirs. That was all that counted.
Hmmm…the people we leave behind in death will remember us, not for what we have, but what we gave. Not for what we owned but for what we shared. I took a quick inventory of my life and asked myself, what am I doing today that counts? I also remembered that even in the place we go after death, we will give account, not of what we were given, but what we used that which we had to do? Who did we touch, what value did we add, what change did we effect.
Ask yourself today and do something about it. Don’t just count your days, make them count. Life is not in duration, it’s in donation. When we close our eyes never to open them into this world, the things that will matter most to all we live behind (and all we go to meet) is the quality of our relationships, the generousity of our giving, the life that we shared, the purpose we pursued, the things we were willing to die for, the sacrifices we made, the value we added, the lives we touched. What will people say about you? Don’t wait till you are 60, start making your life count today!!!
