Last week we started on a very interesting topic – Numbering our days. We established that it requires wisdom – application of knowledge to calculate the numbers of our days and to chose the appropriate steps to take. Since this is a continuation article, I advice that you read the Numbering 001 before you continue so you can get a full picture of the entire article.

If you have ever read the stories of how God instructed Noah to build the Ark, or Moses to build the Ark and Temple or Solomon to rebuild the Temple, you will see that God is very precise, and has unique reasons and purposes for everything that he specifies. I have covered numbers 1-6, so Now I will start from Number 7 Continue reading

Nigeria For Sale!!

I have always joked with some friends of mine, that Nigeria is currently in a selling phase, and they they had better stay around and buy a portion of Nigeria, as the prices will be going up in the near future. Then it was a joke, but today right before our very eyes, Nigeria is on sale.I’m sure you are wondering how? Don’t worry, I’ll not leave you wondering for long. Nigeria is being sold plot by plot, the wise are buying now, fools are making excuses and the ignorant don’t even know what is going on around them. Reading this here already places you ahead of many, but you’ll only stay ahead not when you know, but when you take action based on what you know.I honestly thought it was going to be until the end of the year before we embark on this type of project, but quite frankly, in what looks like a miracle, we are embarking on it now, and in grand style. Listen tight because it’s going to be a game of cash and fastest finger. The New Nigeria Club just secured a deal with a property development company for a land mass allocated and mapped in line with the shape of Nigeria. We are making this available to members only at the lowest prices available in the market, and we are selling parts of the New Nigeria City 1, state by state. The plan is to make this area a tourist attraction, and to involve State Governments and Companies in the development of a prototype Nigeria where everything works. If you are as excited as I am about what’s happening, read on.

Nigeria – Prophecy Vs Invention

I have always believed that there is nothing so bad about 3rd world. The world hasn’t stopped, so the fact that we are third world, simply implies that when the positions were scored, we were third. There is nothing wrong with that. He who is third today has the benefit of learning from the 1st and the 2nd. If  the 1st runs into a ditch, the second will avoid the ditch and so will the 3rd. If the second runs into a ditch, the 3rd still has a 3rd chance. It means also that the opportunities we have to get back up after we have screwed up is more. Can someone say to someone – “there is nothing bad with being ranked as 3rd world”.

However, there is something wrong with staying 3rd world, and heading in the wrong direction. It means for as long as life exists, we would never be anything better than 3rd world. The question that ought to bother us as a nation and as individuals, is where is our nation heading. I will not worry about the details of the speed, or the stretch of our movement if direction is uncertain. It is only a fanatic that doubles speed when direction is unsure. I am a student of prophecy and by extension a son of the tribe of Issachar, I am also a student of creativity, and believe that where the future prophesied future seems bleak, another can be invented. Why I’m not Joining 6startravel

should I?

It seems these foreign MLM developers have suddenly discovered that we Nigerians are mugus. They have made us the destination of all forms of wittily crafted MLMs these days. These MLM’s offer zero value to Nigerians in general. A few people make money, but most people just occupy spaces in their boards, without products of any value.

The clubfreedom argument was tough initially, convincing people about the products and all, but when the others came in, the resistance had been eroded, and they could all just come in and product or not, take advantage of ignorant and wealth seeking Nigerians. Just yesterday there were marketers from different nations and Nigeria, trying to get me involved in 6startravel. I declined, and here is why. Continue reading

Secrets to Success – 1

There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure – Colin Powell US general (1937 – )

Are there secrets to success? Are there hidden things that if they were open to one could make one a millionaire, progress faster at work, win, lead e.t.c? Are there things that are known to the successful that are unknown to all else? There are currently about 2000 books on Amazon.com promising the secrets of success. Searching for these secrets have become the preoccupation of many… but do these secrets truly exist?

First let me establish a definition of success that goes down well with me. I believe that success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. Key words here are, progressive, realization, worthy and ideal. I believe that the difference between the successful and the unsuccessful is not essentially knowledge, neither is it talent, it’s action. Someone once said that successful people are people who make an habit of doing what failures hate to do. The essential difference is in doing.

Lately, a mother asked me a question that has gotten me thinking. I answered her on the spur of the moment back then, but I have taken time out to really think about it, and answer practicable ways. This will be the first article in a series on “Secrets to Success”. She asked me,  how have you been able to  get to what you are now,  what did you do? How  were you like growing up?  I saw in her eyes a strong desire for the best for her children.

1st August, 2008… Sneak Preview

Kehinde is an employee of one of the leading telecommunications companies in Nigeria. His annual salary is N8,000,000 amongst other benefits. He is not doing badly for a middle manager. He knows his work well, has savings worth about N2,000,00 and is quite focused. His father is a civil servant, a director in one of the ministries, and his mother is a principal in one of the good schools in Ibadan, where they both live. Their annual salaries put together is less than N2,000,000. They also have life going on well for them, they have done well for their children, and they are reaping the satisfaction of knowing that their children are doing well in Lagos.

Kehinde wakes up at 5:20am to prepare for work. He goes through the normal routine like he was preprogrammed, a man has to work. He has many projects ahead of him, he needs money badly…or at least, more money. He jets out of the house at quarter to 6. He needs to beat third mainland early morning hold up. As he drives through the wee hours of the morning, he tunes on his radio, what is happening in town. He needs to at least catch up with the current events about all these funny financial policies that have become the topic of debates for the past 1yr. He hits the seek button on his Toyota stereo..93.7..94.5..96.9.. he finally gets a channel that mentioned something about the Naira, dollar conversion..yeah that’s it… Continue reading

Should I, Should I not?

Should we answer a fool according to his folly?

Proverbs 26:4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him

Proverbs 26:5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.

Growing up, these two verses used to excite me, when I was taught paradox in English, this sounded like the typical example. It was open for debate, two contrasting verses placed side by side in a book that was meant to provide guidance. Do we obey the first command, or the last command? Or was this an error? Or as my studious friends will suggest, let’s check the greek root word for both fools, maybe they are different, maybe one is kesil and the other kelis…lol. But seriously, these are two opposite statements placed side by side in the greatest book of all times (my opinion – not far fetched though, it still holds the guiness book of records most printed, most sold, most retranslated and most in demand book in the world)

I believe strongly that the meeting point of any such paradoxes is wisdom. Wisdom is the right application of total available knowledge in the solution of problems. There are times to answer a fool according to his folly, and there are times to refrain from answering a fool according to his folly. The ability to know the difference in these times, is wisdom! 30

Yeah, the popular film is 300, but this about to be popular post is 30…

I’m clocking 30 on the 4th of August, 2007 that’s Saturday, and I’m celebrating it on the same day between 4-6pm at the Little saints Orphanage at Palmgrove like I did last year. I feel a bit funny talking about my age like most people, but for me, that age is a benchmark age for me. Three of the bible characters that inspire me the most, entered into the full realm of their missions at 30.

Jesus started his full time ministry at 30
David became King in Isreal at 30
Joseph became prime minister in Egypt at 30

Early this year, during my time of meditation, God impressed it on my heart, that I was about the age of his Son, when he was on earth, and that I should stop limiting myself.

John the baptist was thirtish when the media of his time classified him as the voice.

Martin Luther King Jr was thirtish when he registered the words -”I have a dream” on the sands of time. Continue reading
