Why Me?

Have you asked that question lately? This is a question we can ask in thanksgiven, but it’s a question we ask more as a complain and out of finding ourselves in places we think we do not deserve. We ask, “why me?”, “why not someone else?”, “why am I going through this mess?”, “Why?”. It may be frustration at work, an exam you prepared for but failed, the loss of a loved one, financial mishap, struggle with an addiction, loss of any type, health issues, acute fear, marital issues, frustrated dreams or an endless list of possibilities. You look at your life, stare at your situation and muse over your circumstances. You know it’s not a fair question to ask, but it slips out of your mouth anyway. You lift up your head to the skies, you desire to see and meet with God, and the question on your heart is, “Why me?”. I have an answer for you today!

From my personal experience and from keen observation of the stories shared by many others, I have come to one empowering perspective – “The message you were sent to deliver to this world, will be formed in the midst of your mess”. The reason why you are going through what you are going through, is because that area of challenge has a key that a large population of the world is struggling to open. The reason you are in that mess, is because someone needs to get the key, and use the key to set others free. The reason why you are experiencing what you are experiencing, is because before you can help others become free, you need to understand what they are going through and be able to show them the way. Prepare or Perish

And the Winner of the Samsung Phone from MTN for this season is: Adesoji Adegbulu. Congratulations. Question 7: What year did MTN start in Nigeria? (Please read the previous articles for the rules)

I am not a great fan of motivating by fear, but research if you must, the worst of the global depression, recession or economic downturn is yet to happen. All we have witnessed so far, is a foretaste and merely a dress rehearsal of what is impending. If you think that the banks have laid off it’s employees, then wait for what is coming. If you think the stock market has crashed and there is a downturn, you hang on and hold on tight. The worst is not over yet! Ireland is currently experiencing food shortage, Greece is broke and world economies are not exactly facing their greatest days. People that cry peace, when the future is bleak and far from at ease are called false prophets. It is important to warn you, that the times are not evenly set, and there is change in the seasons sufficient to cause panic. Continue reading

What’s Your Excuse?

“Question 3 for winning a Samsung GT-S3100 – “What is the full meaning of KB and MB” You can answer the questions now that you see question 3. Answers to be sent to seun.adelana at gmail.com”

“We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge and you did not mourn. For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.” -Matthew 11:18,19

Excuses are monuments of fools, they are tools of the incompetent, he that is wise, will not live by them! Excuses are the reasons failures give for failing! Wisdom is never proven by words, it’s proven by deeds. John has a demon and Jesus is a glutton and a drunkard, hence the generation of old armed themselves with the tools of the incompetent. Their generation didn’t start giving excuses however, it started from the first time man displayed disobedience, Adam opened his mouth “The woman that you gave me, gave me and I ate”. Today however, thousands of years after, men are still forever limited by their excuses!

What is your excuse? What reason have you given yourself to condone and accommodate where you currently are? Are you living true to your potentials? Are you capable of doing more or being more than where you currently are? What is limiting you? You don’t have a choice? Or you have given yourself no other choice? Almost 2yrs ago, I saw the true light and possibilities of what Avenues to Wealth (then Holidays and Cash) could become. I came from Malaysia filled with passion for possibilities. It amazes me how almost two years later, some of the people I shared the opportunity with, have managed to either stay on the same spot or actually fall behind. The company listened objectively to every objection and limitation communicated to it, and have made moves to change everything and make things better. Today, the company is light years ahead of it’s past, yet, some have heard the flute and not danced, they even listened to the dirge and still refused to mourn. What’s your excuse? Continue reading

N100 Internet!

It’s amazing how new great things happen and it somehow eludes many of us. I’ve been actively online on my own terms for about 5yrs now, within that space of time like many other people, I have tried all sorts. Having internet access is critical to personal development, almost all the answers you are looking for are available if you can search for it, the Achilles heels in Nigeria however has been internet access. One one side, you have costs, and on the other hand you have the challenge of functionality and coverage.

In the quest to have consistent internet access, or what I call internet-on-demand, I have tried! Multilinks, Starcomms, Glo, MTN, Zain, IPNX, Cobranet, DOPC, VSAT, Reltel, Oduatel e.t.c. Most of these I have personally owned, and interestingly still own and for the last two, I have tried out with friends. I also travel a lot, and have found some of the less reliable ones reliable in other places. I also use a blackberry, all to ensure that I’m always in touch, and always connected to the world. Afterall, you are the same person you were 5yrs ago, except for two things – New People and New Information. A few weeks ago, I got wind of some innovative price slash and re-bundling that MTN was doing. Looking at the details of what the new prices are, there is almost no reason today not to be in touch or be informed. Students, Workers, Job Seekers, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises, Entrepreneurs of all shapes and sizes, now have an interesting deal, that may even set the pace for much more. Please find below an exciting price slash and innovative product bundle that is sure to delight many more. Continue reading

Tips to Becoming a Leader

“The hand of the diligent shall bear rule; but the slothful shall be put under tribute” – Proverbs 12:24 (KJV)

“Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in slave labor” – Proverbs 12:24 (NIV)

Interestingly this week, I have found myself in front of two different categories of gatherings and speaking on the same topic from two different perspectives. What I want to try to do today, is offer you the benefit of enjoying thoughts from both sessions.

The verse quoted above has never ceased to amaze me, the more I look at it the more seems to pop out at me from this statement. Interestingly when I ask people to task themselves and bring out 4 implied meanings of the sentence above, I actually get pleasantly surprised that people are able to look and actually see more than they also saw before taking a closer look. I’ll like you to pay rapt attention to this post, as the hidden details in the sentence above can set you on the pathway of success for the rest of your life.

Here are the things that are clear from the statements above Continue reading

Success Factors 2

I began a series a few days ago on success factors. I promised that I would complete the success factors, and as such, I have decided to make good that promise today. Success factors are the basic attributes, attitudes, skills or qualities that form the basis for success in any successful person. These are factors that anybody from any level of achievement can practice and their success will be guaranteed. If our habits are right, our results cannot be wrong for long. If you know the factors and practice them relentlessly, you are success bound.

In the industry that I’m passionate about – the Network Marketing industry, the factors required cut across what you’ll need to succeed in almost any sphere. It is indeed a training school for all round success in all spheres of life. If you can put this to practice and succeed here in this industry, I have no doubt that you’ll succeed in family, business or any of the spheres of influence. Continue reading

Success Factors

A few years ago, I had the awe inspiring responsibility of being the Talent Supply Manager for one of the best companies to work for in the world. Shortly before I finished from university, I had stumbled on the name of the company in a book titled the best 100 companies to work for in America, so it was a desirable place for me. Unknown to me, I would go on, to be responsible for determining who gets in, and who does not in just a few years from reading the book. There were many things great about the company – It had at that time been in existence for over 165yrs, it had 110,000 employees worldwide, it invented quite a number of amazing products and concepts and more, but these are not the greatest things about the company. The greatest accolades that the company won were in 1. Quality of Talents that worked in the company and 2. Quality of Management, as evidenced by the fact that many of the other top companies ranking as companies to work for had their CEOs as alumni of this company. Continue reading

It’s not all about you!

We have all somehow averagely gotten ourselves into a saddening grind. We take up jobs because it’s the best choice for us, we negotiate hard because we want to win,  we do deals because we need the money, we go to church because we want to be blessed, say long prayers for personal requests. It’s all about us, it’s all about what we want, who we want and when we want it. We want a better Nigeria because of ourselves, because of our children, we want good healthcare because we need it. In this saddening cycle of life, it’s all about us.  If you think deeply about it however, you will realize… it’s not all about you!

“A person starts to live when he can live outside himself.” -Albert Einstein

The way life is wired, you cannot have true fulfillment or joy living life simply for yourself. You cannot be wealthy, cannot have a great marriage, you cannot enjoy career convergence living life at the level of “me, me, me”.  The best things in life are deliberately reserved by God for those who stretch beyond themselves.
