Thank You All!
I have written this post once before now, and somehow the internet misbehaved when I wanted to post it, and I had no back up. Well, the Yoruba’s say that the house of a king that gets burnt only beautifies it. I guess the fact that I have to thank you again, will only make my thanks sound better.
I want to use this opportunity to appreciate everybody that has added value to my life in one way or the other. I want to thank everybody that wished me well in this new phase of my life. For all the text messages, the emails, the facebook walls, gifts, presence, prayer and goodwill e.t.c. I sincerely express my heartfelt gratitude. Thank You.
A wise man once said, that anybody that pauses to understand life will observe that the highest life lived is that spent in the service of others. The best use of money is to use it in blessing another. The best use of talent, of skill or value is in service. Thank you for being so ever supportive. Thanks for making my days and making my years. I appreciate and celebrate you for the years gone buy, and I welcome you with me into the years ahead. Thank you! (more…)

“Please I need the names and numbers of people in whose lives 30-50k can make a world of difference. They need to be good natured Christians, actively serving in their local churches, and the money must be sufficient to make major impact in their lives or businesses. They will not have to do anything else to be qualified for the gift.”
“I’m also using this medium to invite as many as are willing to contribute money together with me for my yearly contribution to the Little Saints Orphanage (It’s the way I mark my birthday). I desire to raise 3million Naira for them this year. I’m not yet sure how my birithday will be celebrated, I’ll keep you in the know if it will.”
One day long ago (almost 17 years now) as a young lad with keen interest in mathematics, and keen interest in God, I began a search in the scriptures for the possibility of a mathematical harmony in God’s word. Somehow I wondered if the numbers in the bible were used abitrarily or if they had deeper meaning. I wondered how people lived so long in the early chapters and so short in comparism today, and I wondered if our days were numbered alike, i.e 30 days to a month, and twelve months to a year. I was able to find answers to strange questions, I was able to connect some very interesting dots, that shocked me about the rhythm and precision of God. I stumbled on the Sons of Issachar who were distinguished because they understood the times, knew what Isreal was meant to do per time, and stood in command of their brethren. I found that numbers were used at times as mere numbers, and atimes they were symbolic. Even in nature, the numbers behind the combination of elements makes a difference between soap and alchohol.
My search for the symbols behind numbers took me into some interesting understanding, showed me some things to come and made me prepared for my time. What you are about to read is not for all, and will certainly pose a lot of unanswered question to some, but to some others, they would have found an extra peice of support in navigating their journey’s with God, as they pray - “Teach us oh Lord to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to Wisdom”. I once read someone’s article on a friend a long time ago, I have searched all day for this article online but haven’t found it, so I’m going to write mine, and hope that it would give someone the feeling I had back then, when I read the same thing.
In the story I read, a man talks about his childhood friend, how they had drifted apart somewhere along the line. To schools they went, different schools, and to Jobs they went, different Jobs. Wifes happened, and so did kids, and the tide of life threw them along different paths. Sometimes at work the young man would think, “oh, my friend, he would have said this and that”. Sometimes he’ll recall, and push till later when to give him a call. By and by the story went, each day with the pressure to call and see mounting stronger, until one day the young man receives a post mail. He sees the mail is stamped from the same place where his friend and he grew up. (more…)

I wrote down this topic 5hrs ago, and looking at it again just before writing, it seems a bit strange. Why will someone want to make God his enemy? Even if you don’t believe in God, or believe that he exists, I doubt if you’ll want him as an enemy. Would you? I wouldn’t want to too, but there are many of us who in many ways, set out to make God our enemy. Or literally set up ourselves to force God’s hands to move against us.
First of all, I’ll like to make it clear that I’m not interested in looking at this topic from a different philosophical angles. I don’t intend to waste time on the existence of God or His absence. Neither do I want to attribute the Universe to unidentified forces. I am certain and convinced, that there is a God in heaven, and he rules and reigns in the affairs of men. I believe that this God is a loving God, who made humanity in his image and cares about what he created us to accomplish. This God however is also a principled God, who does not act on whims and emotions, but based on clearly explainable principles. In the words of Albert Einstein - God doesn’t throw dice! He has ways, they are only above our ways.
There are quite a number of ways to make God your enemy, in fact, I doubt if they are exhaustive. I’m going to be share the ones that have been revealed to me, and hope that you will work to make God your friend, and not your enemy. (more…)

Ever since the Cadbury Plc Saga with Bunmi Oni, many of us young career people and entrepreneurs who valued the integrity for which Bunmi Oni had been known, have wondered. We have wondered what exactly happened, is it true? Did he really defraud the company? Did he defraud the Shareholders? We searched frantically through the papers for a clue of his response, we longed to see him, and ask, “what is your version of the story?” For years, Bunmi Oni was the business icon of integrity and a role model to many of us who wanted to do things right. He was the beacon of hope, that in a dark dark world of guerrilla managerial gimmicks and self aggrandizing maneuvers, it was still possible to rise to the top of an establishment and play big time in Nigeria’s business terrain without compromising true north values. All that was challenged when the issues were raised. Many of us jumped into conclusions, some of us hoped for his comments and assumed that the silence of a man of integrity meant consent. In a 4hrs meeting with him yesterday his testimony shocked me, and rekindled the light of hope in my mind for value based thinking and integrity. I asked him before I left (I went with a colleague though), if I was allowed to talk about this, and … I am… (more…)

I’m taking a detour from the regular “Did you? series”, to talk about something really fresh that I have learnt in the last 8 days. I’m tempted to go directly into the topic I want to share about, but I know it is right I lay a preamble to it.
For 8 days stretch, just after recovering on a hackers attack on my website, I lost my voice! You might not understand the gravity of losing one’s voice, I did. I did not have a cold, a cough or even a sore throat, I just discovered that the loudest I could go was the mimicry of a ladies high pitched voice. I could not be heard over the phone, I could not speak to three people let a lone a crowd, I was bothered. I had varied recommendations from different people about what to do and I was virtually open to all, honey, lemon, lime, lozenges, vitamin C e.t.c. If someone had recommended Viagra, I might have tried it out
The day’s went by one by one, I traveled out of the country for a while, hoping that by the time I returned I’ll be well rested, as that was a prescription I found hard to take. While all these was happening, I realized the value of my voice, and saw how in reality, next to my brain, my voice was next in the line in terms of my assets. At some points I wondered, was God asking me to shut up? What did He require of me? Have I obeyed his last command? Did he want me to write a book? I negotiated with God, if you could restore my voice, I will do this, I will do that… the voice didn’t come. I prayed, and was open to divine direction and there was something he dropped in my heart, “I put people in strange circumstances for many reasons, but principally because I want them to learn and know, remember Nebuchadnezzar?”. He then asked me to learn what I can, in this season when I could not speak out. I learnt a few things, and you might not need to go through the same experience again to learn. (more…)

Yesterday we had our regular New Nigeria Club sponsored Sunday seminar. We had two feature speakers, Niyi Adesanya and Kunle Awofolajin. Niyi Adesanya spoke about Public Speaking as a tool for financial empowerment, while Kunle Awofolajin spoke on Forex Trading as a tool for financial empowerment. These two presentations are a must hear. Somewhere in between introducing the two speakers, I had the opportunity of talking for 3 mins. I narrated a story that had been on my mind of late, and I think it’s good I share it with you as well. Once upon a time long ago, there was a rich widow. This widow was very rich but had no children. she had many maids, many employees and many friends, but few children. It so happened that it got to a time in her old age that she was diagnosed with an incurable disease. Everybody rallied around her and cared for her, until she became too much of a burden and one by one, they stopped showing up. It happened eventually that there was only one person left with her - an uneducated matron who loved the rich widow so much she was willing to dedicate her time to care for her until her death. In the weeks that followed, things deteriorated slowly until after a while, the rich widow could hardly speak. At this time, she knew that the end was near, and she decided to make signs to the matron and ultimately gave her something that seemed like a sheet of paper.

The Prayers That Influenced Me
It’s been quite a while that I have written, it hasn’t been out of having nothing to write, it’s has been out of being extremely busy. I hate this type of business, working on so many things at the same time, some of them great things and not having sufficient time to communicate or update the world about them. New Nigeria Club has been matching on beautifully, we have in our tracks covered a lot of things we planned to do, and are doing more by the day. We have been able to spread our tentacles into a lot more opportunities for members, we were able to get investment opportunities for members and our weekly meetings have tipped and we have changed the venue from an unfilled 250 sitter hall into packing full one that can accommodate 1500 people at a sitting every Sunday and a lot more. We are currently concluding the acquisition of the New Nigeria City, and working on putting the New Nigeria City Ltd together as a management company that will be co-owned by New Nigeria Club members. God has been good, and things have been great.
Just last Sunday, I caught myself praying a prayer that currently comes to me naturally. It’s not the Lords prayer, but it’s a prayer that I have uttered with as much regularity. In fact the prayer is so much a part of me, that without thinking when I want to pray I utter the phrases to God and it causes me to think. My life is on an upward climb, and trust me, all the glory belongs to God. I have come this far, and will go further, not by my genius or by my strength, but by God’s grace and his answers to prayers. I remember I wrote a similar article some time ago, titled the songs that influenced me. I think you can learn a few things from these words of prayer, and offer them to God for yourself as well. As I write this, I can hear rain drops slowly hitting the roof. It wasn’t raining 3 months ago, but it’s raining now. Praying fervently for rain would have been exerting to make it rain 3 months ago while no activity is required to make it happen today. The sequence of life is divided into seasons, and each season favours particular activities. Understanding the seasons and working in line with the seasons is one of the surest ways to be most productive. Wisdom demands that we do things at the right time, things are easiest when they are done at their seasons. If I sow seeds in the raining season, then my seeds will grow with the support of the seasons, if I sow in the dry season however, I will need to do a lot of work, to get any results from the seed. It is crucial we understand the seasons of our lives, for as long as the earth remains, seed time and harvest time shall not cease. The seasons will change, how you respond to the seasons is what will determine your standing.
In the 12 tribes of Isreal, only one of the tribes was tagged as knowledgeable about the seasons, and hence respected for knowing what was the right thing to do per time. An accurate understanding of the seasons is a prerequisite to wisdom. What season of life are you in now? What season are we collectively in, as a nation? What season is the world at large in now? Different stages of our lives connote different seasons, and different periods in the life our nations imply different seasons. What activities should you engage in, in this season of your life? What should a wise person do at this time? If these are questions on your mind, then don’t stop here, read on. (more…)

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”
Does it not amaze you that the entire world was formed with words? In a chronicle of events that led to the creation of the world, the authoritative book on earth - The bible, gives an interesting account. Interesting because in one breath, it records that God worked for 6 days, and in the same breath it alludes that all that God did, was to speak. I wondered when I was younger why God will say something and then it would be evening and it would be reckoned that he had finished the work for the day. He kept up with this work at this pace, and eventually on the seventh day, he had to rest.
What activity did God engage in to create the earth? Speaking! God spoke order into chaos, tangible into the void and light into the darkness. He spoke one component of the earth into existence one by one by his words. An historical reference book actually says that God said it, and kept on saying it, until he could see it. No wonder it was called work. I discovered by experience that when you make concious effort to confess some set of words everyday in the bid to create, it’s no mean fit.
I have read quite a number of books that allude to the power of the use of words in the creative process. I have also experienced it first hand myself. I can also point to a number of people in society whose rise and indeed fall was predicated on words that proceeded from their mouths. It is true that life and death are in the power of the tongue. In the few words ahead you are about to read, are my findings about words and how you can use them to create your future… (more…)
