Wired as an Employee

She wakes up very early in the morning, gets ready in a hurry, and leaves to work in a giffy. She’s been doing it like this for 4yrs, so she doesn’t really see it as a big deal anymore. She is fine and doing well, for as long as no one asks fundamental mind boggling questions. She’s become a master at her routines; she’s even grown to add on more responsibilities. The pay is not bad, gets her going, and gives her a little extra to create a few options for herself. She’s giving her family better than she got, life is good.

Once in a while however, her boat is rocked. She goes to church or a special meeting, and the speaker preaches a storm about dreams, about visions, about passion, about God, about a purposeful life, about living a fulfilled life and about eternity. Those same words that once created the picture of a beautiful peaceful world few years ago, now create internal anarchy within her system. The picture it represents today is abstract. Her mind is drawn to ponder, and the thought of how far away she has wondered away from her dreams and true desires is mind boggling. She hears the phrases all too common in those meetings – “What will you do if failure was not an option?”, What is your plan B? e.t.c. Inside her heart she knows the answer is different from her current vocation. She shrugs it, what can one do, isn’t it the first thing to simply survive? She struggles with those thoughts over the weekend, but when Monday comes, she resumes her routine. Unconsciously, she has been wired to see life as an employee, and change is costly! My Testimony – FGBMF

The narrative below was produced by Ewulotan Ayodeji Peter a participant in the Full Gospel Business Men Fellowship of 17th March, 2010, the Aqua Chapter. I had the privilege of sharing my testimony and perspectives with them. I believe some people were blessed, here is hoping that this narrative would be valuable to you as well.
He is a distinguished engineering graduate from OAU who opted to pursue his passion (human development) rather than the course he studied. He was fortunate to have given his life to Christ very early in life, a decision that turned him to a young billionaire (He was a Youth Corper 10years ago). His major turning point in life started when he went for a retreat out of passion for God…….before the commencement of the meeting he prayed that God should distinguish him in life (he wanted to be different, ….God set me apart)
He was surprised at God’s response …….God told him it is not my job to make you different ….that he would not need Him (God) to be different…. that the decision and effort must come from him (Deolu) to be a different person i.e. you have to first draw near to God for God to draw near to you …..like the saying ‘Heaven only helps those who help themselves’. ‘When I see you make a move then I God will back you up. Adieu President Yar’Adua

Death is a very sensitive topic. I am usually amazed at how death makes celebrities out of people who’s CDs we never would have bought. I get amused at how it’s difficult to speak ill of the dead or wish the person anything other than heaven or a good place. I have attended a few burials in my life, and when the person was outrightly wicked and bound for nowhere else, we all still believe the best and hope that in his or her last moments, a mini dialog with God had made all things good. In the light of this, I do not wish to talk about the hear after, but the here and now! May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Isaiah 6:1a says, in the year King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord…

It is my sincere prayer tonight that in this hour that our president departs from the world as we know it, God will speak to His prophets! My hearty prayer tonight is that the blueprint of God for this nation will be proclaimed and he will set in power those who will execute his will! I prophesy this night and as we progress into morning, that God will destroy the Pharaoh spirit holding this nation captive! I declare you evil genius’, you antichrists, let my people Go! I decree plagues in the camp of the cabal, I decree that one event after the other will commence until the proverbial Pharaoh lets Nigeria Go!  I pray that ears will be opened and the eyes of the Isaiah’s of this nation will see!
