Amazing Trivia
Thank God it’s Friday, as we enter into the weekend, I thought, perhaps the best way to end the working week is with some interesting strange but true facts. It’s always a challenge for me to write immediately after a post where I get lots of praises, I always wonder, can I outdo the last? These thoughts delay the next, can you imagine? Today however, I think it’s all in a different direction, and you should simply laugh and enjoy yourself. (more…)

Entrepreneur’s Creed
I do not choose to be a common person.
It is my right to be uncommon — if I can.
I seek opportunity — not security.
I do not wish to be a kept citizen,
humbled and dulled by having the state look after me.
I want to take the calculated risk,
to dream and to build, to fail and to succeed.
I refuse to barter incentive for a dole;
I prefer the challenges of life to the guaranteed existence:
the thrill of fulfillment to the stale calm of Utopia.
I will not trade my freedom for beneficence
nor my dignity for a handout.
I will never cower before any earthly master
nor bend to any threat.
It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and
unafraid: to think and act for myself,
to enjoy the benefit of my creations
and to face the world boldly and say:
this, with God’s help I have done.
All this is what it means to be an entrepreneur.
I stumbled on this creed some days ago, and it rang home to me. It was as though I authored it. Please forgive my thinking myself capable of such, but once in a while in my life, I read words of a page and it reassures me. One of such readings recently was the writings of Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore, and of Peter Drucker about the Entrepreneurial Society. When I saw this creed, it lept out of the pages, and sounded like what I must memorize. You might not be an entrepreneur today, but there are a few lessons in there for someone too. Here are my thoughts. (more…)

Many people who have heard me speak, know that I am a story teller. I love stories, I enjoy hearing them as much as I enjoy sharing them. I have often discovered also that people love stories as well, so somehow we connect, and 5yrs after I speak somewhere, I still meet people that remind me of the stories that I told them. This shows me that story telling does work. While writing a story and telling them are two different things, I very well prefer to tell than to write, because in telling I get to feel the crowds pulse, read their excitement, follow the twists and turns, and tell the story in a unique way for every crowd. On Sunday I was opportuned to present this story before a crowd of about 1000 people, and truthfully, even I enjoyed the story in a different way.
Once upon a time, there was a young man. This young man had a dream, a goal an aspiration that one day he would become the number 1 clown in his country. He had gone for a seminar where he had been thought to analyze his skills and write down his goal and vision, and for him, it all pointed to being a clown of repute. As soon as he discovered this, he started searching for materials on clowning, and started reading and developing himself in earnest. He went to watch other clowns perform, interacted with a few people about his dreams and invested heavily in developing himself. (more…)

If you are in the UK, then you can make it a date at the 5th Annual Best of Nigeria Conference at EXCEL, the exhibition center at London Docklands. The New Nigeria Club will be showcasing some of it’s achievements and projects at stand 14.
Peter Oluokun and Rhoda Obeto are the main drivers of New Nigeria Club in the UK, and they are getting things done so well, that I am inspired.
We talk a about Nigeria, the problems, we seldom talk about the solutions. Then we start talking about solutions, and seldom take action. Then we take action and seldom connect the actions together to make up systems that make the actions we take catalytic. The process of change must leave talk to action, must leave action to catalytic, and must leave the catalytic to the epidemic. What Nigeria needs is not another great idea, but another great execution. (more…)

One of the ills I see in our society is the elevated position money is given. Not money literally though, I don’t have an issue with people being awarded for making money, where I see a problem, is where money is celebrated in our society without any consideration to the source of the money. We celebrate wealth without paying attention to the values that created them - hence we celebrate thieves, fraudsters, and all forms of illegalities. It’s this same craze, that has gotten over our young ones and now, they have moved from online scams to daylight robbery to seeking the help of spirtualists in getting wealth.
I heard a few stories lately that didn’t go down well with me, and I feel responsible to the public and my readers to educate, inspire and motivate our collectively pushing forward the right values. Money is good only when it’s source is good. Money is good only if gotten from means that add value to others. Good money must leave a value trail. On the surface level, what I just wrote sounds pretty simple, but it’s not.
Story 1.
This might sound to you like a Joke, but I heard it happened for real. A man calls his son, and has the following conversation with him
Father: My son, I have just decided to call you based on an issue that is really disturbing for me. My grandfather died a poor man, my father also was not rich. I am 65yrs old this year, and I’m not rich, you also are beginning to thread a similar path. My son, I don’t know the details of this business deal you are working on, but if by the end of this year, you don’t make money, please come and carry me and use me to do money! Please my son, somebody in our family must make this money! (more…)

This morning I got a text message from a lady friend, and I felt really happy for her. Her message was “UNBELIEVABLE in the history of MLM. I now make $20,000 every 7 days in holidays and cash”. I find that alarming (even though I think 1% of that is ok weekly), being aware that the company has been in operation globally for less than 3months. Unlike I have done with many opportunities in the past, I will not give you my perspectives about this one, I’ll just present you with information direct from the horse’s mouth and give you an opportunity to take your own decisions. I’m sorry for one thing though, I procrastinated a bit in bringing this information to you, I did not want to share unproven information.
I’m presenting this interview to you to make your own choices. I met Michael in the early part of this year while he was Marketing Director for Clubfreedom. He in fact went to church with me, and we chatted for a while. I have a lot of respect for him, and believe he’s a strong marketer, the type that any Network marketing business needs for sustainability.
I present you, Michael Faust and Holiday and Cash. (more…)

Everyday, I get one mail, text or call or the other, that helps me know that people value my little contribution, and believe me, it’s encouraging. I don’t want to live a normal life, of grow, marry, give birth and die. I want to add value, to change lives, to bring hope, to bring help, to save, to provide to leave a legacy.
I got this mail forwarded to me by Praise Fowowe on feedback from Sex2Sex conference, and if this was the only mail and feedback from the event, I think the event is well worth it. Trust me, there is no kidding the kind of pressure that is mounted on young people. How the world migrated from a time when it was honorable to be chaste to one where being a virgin is something to be shy of amazes me. The world is on it’s head, man is dysfunctional! But before we get too far in analyzing that, read the reason why this title. It’s here and uncut!

Opportunity: $10million up for Grabs!

I heard about this on the 24th of September 2008, but for one reason or the other haven’t written about it. The closing date to taking advantage of this opportunity is the 20th of October, 2008. I’m sure some of you know already, but for some, you are in a hurry to have me let the cat out of the bag.
If you could suggest and idea that could help a lot of people what would it be? If you have this kind of idea, buckle up because this opportunity might be for you. Haven discovered that beyond the basic level of material wealth, the only thing that increases happiness, is helping others, google has put up for grabs $10million for projects for any 1-5 people who have great ideas that can impact a lot of people. Day before yesterday night, all I wanted to do on getting home was spend some time playing a game of soccer on PS3, and go to sleep. I wanted to free my mind, and let my hair down. While I was warming up to do this however, a program on Discovery channel caught my fancy.
It was the building of the biggest bridge in the world in Japan. It was already after midnight, but my eyes could not shut, neither could my brain, as I saw beyond the bridges, and got inspired.
The Japanese were trying to build a bridge to span over about 4km in deep waters and in one of the most earthquake prone regions of the world. characteristically, they didn’t just set out to build, they analyzed the situation, developed a plan of action, and went on to execute with excellence. The entire project took about 7yrs - they started in July 1989 and finished around 1996, but as they moved from stage to stage and celebrated their successes, I was able to observe the DNA of any successful enterprise or life. Read on. (more…)
