Word for 24th September.

Posted by Adeolu Akinyemi @ September 24th, 2008 | Comments (13)

This morning I got a buzz from a colleague (Busayo Akanro) showing me the scripture where it talks about the word of God for the 24th day of the ninth month (Sept 24). The word actually read that from today onward, irrespective of where I was coming from, the lord will bless me. I thought I should share the same word with you. Do read it.

I read it to another colleague who was shocked that there was word for today in the bible, and how it so much applied to his life. Do you want to know if it applies to your life? I now took the liberty to go ahead and read what led to the particular verse, and I made a remarkable discovery. Maybe you should read it here.

10On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet, saying, (more…)

In Pursuit of Immortality

Posted by Adeolu Akinyemi @ September 24th, 2008 | Comments (16)

I was at the Sex2Sex conference organized by Praise Fowowe over the weekend, and by all standards it was an exceptional event. Such events ought to have more sponsorship, corporate and government! But thankfully we all didn’t have to wait for the government to do what we knew was right. It’s alright to take responsibility and it should always be something to be proud of! New Nigeria Club was a proud part sponsor of the event.

There were a lot of very interesting things I learnt and discovered at the Sex2Sex conference. For starters, I was able to hear Toyosi Akerele speak for the first time, she is an impressive and very driven young lady. She is the founder and manager of RISE network, and I have no doubt the network is one to watch out for. I also had the opportunity of listening to Tara FelaDurotoye. She spoke after I did, and she was on fire. I was impressed with her depth and her convictions, I was also moved by her style and story. One key thing I discovered, which added up in my mind, was the fact that her husband Fela Durotoye also took exactly the same type of Oath of Sexual purity that I took (for more information, click on the category on sex). I had never heard him speak about it before, neither he me, but it added up nicely. Maybe one day I’ll be able to do a list and we can make it fashionable to be faithful and stay pure. I also listened to Praise Fowowe, his passion was simply contagious as the crowd stood a number of times to agree with him. His message was clear, “you can hold your body, don’t use condom!”. “Don’t use rubber gloves to kill someone and say you didn’t do it.”, “Don’t put out the shares of your private company except you want to take it public, cover your breasts, make your privates, privates”. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to tell you about what I said, I’m sure you can get the tapes for that, but I can share some thoughts with you on what Prof Pat Utomi said during the event, I have captioned it, the pursuit of Immortality. Nigeria Bloggers Conference Vs 1

Posted by Adeolu Akinyemi @ September 21st, 2008 | Comments (19)

History was made today, as at the same time Nigerian Bloggers gathered together in Lagos, Nigeria on the possibility of collaborating and increasing the general knowledge of the community, a blog world and new media expo was taking place in Las Vegas. I was shocked to discover that this worldwide bloggers conference had 200 facilitators of repute and thousands of bloggers and tons of corporate sponsorship. We were about 80 in number today, and we had a fun time together. The room was decorated in with New Nigeria Club banners, and the ever supportive team of Generis staff (Emore Ogho, Abiola Akinyemi, Ola Daramola, Seun Afolabi, Temitope Akinyemi, Ekwu Osodi, David Bernad, Charles Ugbomeh, Mayowa Oloyede, Lolu Daniels) made the event an organizational success.

We had 5 facilitators, Anu Oluwadare, Gbenga Aijotan, Olumide Alabi, Gbenga Sesan and My humble self (Adeolu Akinyemi). We had brief intro’s on different topic areas, and somehow waltzed into and open ended question and answer session. I did the intro, explaining the motivation behind the meeting, while one facilitator after the other talked about different aspects of blogging and how we can better leverage on this tool, to create immense value for ourselves and our country. We all seemed unanimous in our desire for an industry with standard that represents all of us. We shared passionately about how we can move the industry forward and shared thoughts on logical next steps for the Nigerian Bloggosphere. We also spoke about an opportunity that is about to be unveiled shortly that will take blogging in Nigeria to the next level.

Here are snippets of blogging excerpts from within the event… (more…)

MLM Education -001

Posted by Adeolu Akinyemi @ September 20th, 2008 | Comments (15)

Advertorial: Everymorning Monday to Friday 7:45-7:50am Eko FM 89.75, please join Deolu Akinyemi on behalf on New Nigeria Club for “The Patriotic Nigerian!” All NNC please check on the website for regular updates coming soon.

I have come to discover that there is a lot that people do not know about Multi Level Marketing in Nigeria, and believe it or not, there are some things beginning to happen that indicate that those who have profited or lost but understand the systems are about to be rewarded. I know that there is a lot that people do not know about many things as well, many other things like manufacturing, refining, mining, agriculture e.t.c, but if I had the opportunity to start with one industry that I know has the power to empower people, particularly Nigerians the fastest I’ll chose Multilevel Marketing, Agriculture and then the others. I also know that the first reaction of most people to multilevel marketing might be negative, but believe it or not, you are missing out of some opportunities, and Passing Over Opportunities Repeatedly is what makes people POOR.

Donald Trump is reported to have been asked, what will you do, if you suddenly became bankrupt today. He said “I’ll look for a good Multilevel Marketing company, and work my way to the top there.” Multilevel Marketing is business for people that are interested in helping others, it’s a business school in that, you work and learn. Interestingly however, all of us are doing it already, howbeit unsuccessfully. (more…)

Sex2Sex Summit

Posted by Adeolu Akinyemi @ September 17th, 2008 | Comments (7)

Advertorial: A sex2sex summit will be holding at 9am on Saturday the 20th of September, 2008. It’s going to be the biggest gathering of people taking a stand for their future, Nigeria’s future and their sexuality. Facilitators for these event include, Fela Durotoye, Adeolu Akinyemi, Tara Feladurotoye, Tosan (cakes) Jemide, Toyosi Akerele, Praise Fowowe and Professor Pat Utomi. It will be a good opportunity to have all these people in one spot and have access to all of them. Plan to attend. It’s a New Nigeria Club backed and sponsored event! Our statistics say that by 2020 75Million Nigerians will be living with HIV/AIDS, we can’t afford to pretend to be blind!

Here are some thoughts from the convener, Praise Fowowe

For a long time we have all kept quiet waiting for someone else to be responsible for our responsibility. We looked up to the 1st world countries for aids and we got AIDS in return. Now we need them to help us mop the effect of the virus in Africa.

We all know the truth but try to run away from it. We have forgotten the adage that says if you don’t know where you are going at least you must remember where you are coming from. Where are we coming from Nigerians? (more…)

Inundated!

Posted by Adeolu Akinyemi @ September 17th, 2008 | Comments (8)

There are a lot of things happening at the same time. The financial terrain in Nigeria is witnessing a shaking, like everywhere else in the world. The NSE is not only reporting decline in share prices, the shares are actually illiquid. Just a few minutes ago, I got a call from someone informing me that someone is willing to sell his Oceanic Bank shares at 40k less than today’s market price. I know by experience, that for most of what is on the market, attempting to sell is currently difficult as nobody is buying. This is against the campaign of “buy when the market is low”. Investors have lost confidence in the market, and are not willing to gamble if it will go low or come up anymore. I have my money and the money of a few good friends in this stock market. The key word now is watch and pray, as it’s completely out of our hands for now, and from the look of things, perhaps till the end of first quarter next year.

Against this backdrop, I have been searching around to see opportunities for personal and public rebound. What can people invest in today. What opportunities exist for people to take advantage of. In my search, I discovered a variety of opportunities. Some of them good, some of them perhaps too good to be true, and some of them just ok.  I see myself as having a responsibility of sharing knowledge with my readers that will help them develop and create wealth for themselves. It’s also interesting that the average Nigerian is also experienced in the art of wealth creation, most of the experience has however been bad, and now we have people who complain about the past and are unwilling to try anything new. I say blessed are they who do nothing today, because yesterday’s seed didn’t bring in any results today, they will reap what they  have sown, nothing. (more…)

Complainers didn’t build the Ark

Posted by Adeolu Akinyemi @ September 10th, 2008 | Comments (14)

One of the most annoying sites I see littered around Nigeria or even diaspora these days, is two Nigerians or more, gathering together to complain about Nigeria. It’s so easy to make friends these days, just talking rubbish about our country.

Nigerians are so intelligent, we know how to conjure words together to aptly describe the failings of our leaders, the uselessness of government and the insecurity of our environment. None of us alludes to being corrupt, but our leaders are suddenly all corrupt. We complain and talk like people whose leaders were forced on them rather than through a process. If it is indeed true that people get the type of leaders that symbolize their constitution, does it not say something about us? Rather than focus on the issues we all have as individuals however, we are taken over by finger pointing, complaining, bitterness, and gossiping. We badmouth the government, crucify our leaders, defame our business men. And don’t look far away to cast this blame… you have been a part of the complaining culture as well, but tell me today, has complaining ever created anything good? (more…)

Nigeria Bloggers Conference

Posted by Adeolu Akinyemi @ September 2nd, 2008 | Comments (45)

The BIT Session and NNC Launch in the UK went well. It was refreshing to see people outside the shores of Nigeria benefiting from what is going on back home - we had fun, laughed out loudly, and shared wealth creating opportunities that are currently open to NNC members. Being in the UK has also provided it’s own set of learning opportunities, I’m getting to better understand the system here - transport and financial. How things work, what works, what doesn’t, and the best ways to make the most of this environment. Having said that, I’ll be coming back to the UK for another BIT session on the 27th of September, 2008. And thought the first was good, the second is going to be better!

While I was in the airport in Nigeria, I got a brainwave I have been nursing since then. With every passing day, the idea has developed a little more flesh and a little more flesh. Right now, I believe I have a great idea, that will put smiles on the faces of thousands of Nigerians, and the Nation at large. The idea is hot and sizzling, and you can’t afford not to be part of the first set of people to hear it. One thing I can guarantee though is that no one present for this meeting will regret it, in fact, many will be forever grateful they made the date. (more…)
