Seasons of Our Lives – 1


As I write this, I can hear rain drops slowly hitting the roof. It wasn’t raining 3 months ago, but it’s raining now. Praying fervently for rain would have been exerting to make it rain 3 months ago while no activity is required to make it happen today. The sequence of life is divided into seasons, and each season favours particular activities. Understanding the seasons and working in line with the seasons is one of the surest ways to be most productive. Wisdom demands that we do things at the right time, things are easiest when they are done at their seasons. If I sow seeds in the raining season, then my seeds will grow with the support of the seasons, if I sow in the dry season however, I will need to do a lot of work, to get any results from the seed. It is crucial we understand the seasons of our lives, for as long as the earth remains, seed time and harvest time shall not cease. The seasons will change, how you respond to the seasons is what will determine your standing.

In the 12 tribes of Isreal, only one of the tribes was tagged as knowledgeable about the seasons, and hence respected for knowing what was the right thing to do per time. An accurate understanding of the seasons is a prerequisite to wisdom. What season of life are you in now? What season are we collectively in, as a nation? What season is the world at large in now? Different stages of our lives connote different seasons, and different periods in the life our nations imply different seasons. What activities should you engage in, in this season of your life? Ahead of 2005, it’s a name that would have been mentioned without much ado, but not today. His great personality and good work have brought him to limelight, but his unmanaged weakness has made him an object of shame. Eliot Spitzer, resigned his appointment as the Governor of New York today, with his wife by his side. In his words, he would not want to allow his private failings to affect other people’s work. He had gotten into public office with private problems, and what he had not addressed, undressed him of power. He is Eliot Spitzer, now former Governor of New York.

The Richest Man in…


Yesterday, Forbes and CNN celebrated the emergence of a new richest man in the world, and announced the movement of Bill Gates to 3rd position, the first time in over 13yrs. I did a quick run through of the list of the world’s billionaire and marveled. India had managed to clinch, 4th, 5th and 6th position, putting themselves firmly in the top 10 richest men in the world. Another notable entrant into the billionaire list was Mark Zucherberg, now the youngest billionaire in the world.

The concept of riches and wealth never ceases to amaze me, it is said that questions are the answers that we seek. I have asked a variety of questions in my bid to understand the subject of wealth. Why are some people rich and some others poor? Why are some people paid so well, while some others are rewarded poorly? Why do some men sweat blood all day, only to earn peanuts in the night. Is there a hard and fast formula for predicting the wealth off an individual? Is there a prescriptive formula that all that desire enduring wealth must practice? Well, haven asked for long, sometime ago, I stumbled on the answer. This answer is original and more complete than most of the theorems I have heard.

Your Job is Not Enough


In the 19th century, it wasn’t necessary for married women to work. The man was the bread winner, and whatever bread he won, was enough to cater for the family. It was an agrarian age, and the labour of the man was sufficient to cater for his household, the requirements for farming were also mostly masculine, it was alright to bring the goods home, and have the woman continue from there.  After a while, the concept of industries began to emerge, in the early 20th century, man entered the industrial age, in this age, concepts like division of labour, segregation of work and systems came into limelight. The requirement for working was no longer brute strength, at the same time, it became increasingly difficult for the salary of the man alone to take care of his family. The women started working to support their husbands; unmarried ladies started working because they would invariably need it. The concept of housewife started diminishing, as the man required support to provide for the needs of his household.\r\n\r\nToday, we are in the digital or information age. In this age, information has taken on fresh power, the bombardment of advertising is inundating, options are almost limitless and services are beginning to be more in vogue than products. Population has increased, the world has shrunk and the playing field is leveled. The earth is round, but the world is flat. In progression from the past, the requirements for today are not just the man and woman working, but one job is grossly insufficient. Except you have more than one source of income today, the ship of your life is heading for an iceberg. If your job ties you down to absolutely nothing else from 8am to 5pm, it better be paying you like a suicide bomber, because that is who you are. Tips – Becoming Rich


I thought that 2007 was a great year, but it’s just two months gone in 2008 and I feel it’s a better year by incomparable margins. This year is filled with so much opportunity and so many channels to live the life of one’s dreams. I hope you are feeling the same way as well, because it is certain that in the midst of all these abundance many will still squalor in poverty and lack. I have come to discover that poverty is not the absence of money it’s the absence of desire.

There has not been a lot of information on this site about emerging opportunities in the stock market and businesses worth investing in. The reason is not because they haven’t been available; they have been, in fact much more than last year, I haven’t only been talking about them, because I made a few decisions last year.  I discovered that not all that read from my site are actually “old” enough to be responsible for their actions. Hence I have decided to make information available only to a select group of people, people that have proven over time to be responsible and people who I know that are willing to access risks, and know that high reward comes from high risks.
