Early this month, after a meeting with my Pastor (Rev Sam Adeyemi), I decided to buy 20 copies of the book – “The Tipping Point”, and make them available to all my colleagues. The meeting with him had been a really good one, I had briefed him about the New Nigeria Club, our passion, our vision, our motivation and methodologies. He was excited about what we were doing, and remarked that he believed that what we were doing had the potentials to “catch fire”. He also commented that it wasn’t an idea anymore, as we had started. He went ahead to pray for me, the visionary and for the New Nigeria Club. While we talked however, he remarked that he remembers reading the book titled – The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell, and that the book contained some interesting models for realizing our dream of a National Positive Epidemic. I told him I had read some of the book, and that some of our models were actually drawn from there. I however noted it in my mind, that I would not only read the book completely, I would encourage my colleagues to read it as well.
It’s only a few weeks since that meeting, and the book has gradually virtually taken over a good part of our vocabulary. We are consistently on the look out now, for what we can do, to tip every project that we are working on. One such concept was what we applied to our regular Sunday meetings, and all of a sudden from barely filling up a 250 sitter room, we are now desperately looking for a 1,500 sitter room. We tipped last week Sunday with filled to capacity room, for Financial Empowerment Seminar Series and next week Sunday, we are even taking bolder steps. This week Sunday we’ll be having part 2 of the Financial Empowerment Series, and we’ll be delving into details about how to become financially empowered with the vehicles of the Stock Market and Real Estate, and how to do it with little or zero capital. As I write this article, my leg aches, my hands have wounds and my head hurts. I sustained some injuries 3 days ago, and I long to always look back at the scars. Yes you read that right, I long to always look back at the origin of those scars, the events surrounding it are memorable.
Thursday last week, I travelled back to Ilorin, precisely Federal Government College Ilorin my Alma Mata. I went back after 14yrs, invited as the guest speaker in the school’s 35th Founder’s day Celebration. When I entered the school gate, I felt a bit shocked, the school had not improved since I left it 14yrs ago but had actually deteriorated. I went round the school, recounting the story of my childhood to my colleagues that went with me, also preparing to address the crowd of 800+ students and their teachers. My objective was to ensure that by the time I left Ilorin the students’ passion for academic excellence would have improved visibly. This objective was well achieved by the time we left Ilorin, and even though I have these aches, I am glad I made myself available. Continue Reading »

It’s taking long to conclude this article, but I believe that this should be the concluding article. We’ve been trying to help each other find where we are in our life journeys. You can read the first 3 episodes (lol) to get clarity on where we have been in this journey of achievement.
We’ve been using the life of Joseph as case study for the landmarks in the life of an achiever. We have moved from his place of birth in Padanaram, to the Pit, to Potiphar’s house to Prison. Now Joseph is about to make a transition from the Prison to the Palace.
The palace is synonymous to opportunity. Being in the Palace doesn’t make you the Pharaoh or Prime Minister, anymore than getting an opportunity makes you a millionaire. What we do in the Palace, like what we do with opportunities is what will make our journey pinnacle at the right place. Joseph was able to make that transition. Read how. Continue Reading »

“When purpose is undefined, abuse is inevitable” – Unknown.
“When value is not discovered, loss and waste are inevitable” – Adeolu Akinyemi
Have you ever wondered if your life would have been better if you were born in another country? Have you ever thought that your currently hidden talents would have gotten the sunlight of better publicity and discovery if you were born in America? Have you heard some of your classmates talk about their exploits in other countries and you’ve wondered, how much better your own story might have been? These questions, these thoughts are some of the powerful ones taking talent consistently out of our country. Our commarades are being taken away from Nigeria to serve the progress of other nations. Why? Simply because we have not discovered the value of our people and helped to position or support them. Brain drain is happening in every sector of our country, in the academics as well as the sports.
Recently, we were approached by an athlete here in Nigeria. This lady held our National high jumping record, also represented us at the All African Games, and won. She however was stuck, as she had no willing sponsors for the world indoor games and the Olympics. She had already been approached by some other countries to sponsor her for some of these events. All she needed to do was simply naturalize as a citizen of their country. Continue Reading »

I observed recently that there are many misconceptions about a number of things surrounding me, and I’ve been wondering how I’ll resolve them. Silence they say is the only requirement required for the wrong information to own the airwaves. I have decided to do justice to this misconceptions, by offering the public the benefit of my side of the story. Sure some people will read what I have to say, and still stick with their believes, and many will read and go… “aha”, for those many, it’s all worth all the pains involved in penning them down.
I understand well that there is only two categories of people that don’t get bad publicity, the people that are dead, and the people that are doing nothing. Thankfully, I am alive and busy, and capable of explaining my side of these stories.
Please find below some of these misconceptions and the truth. Continue Reading »

Someone asked whether we had sufficient on the sex series to cater for the needs of those that have needs for Sex -199. lol. Well, we started a series last week, and there is a concluding part, to the series we started in Sex -102.
In case you are wondering why Sex of all things to talk about, well it’s because there are few things that cut across all human beings. One is finances, another is sex and the various other items that surround them. I remember once listening to a man that said authoritatively that he does not know of anybody dead that was maritally unfaithful and died a peaceful death. Maybe you should check it out as well.
Our society is breaking down, as we continue to equip ourselves with excuses. I felt really touched when I Praise told the story of a primary 3 boy that was caught with a condom in the toilet with a primary 2 girl, when asked the reason for this behavior, he responded quite confidently “Isn’t it on TV that if we can’t hold body, we should use condom?” Shocking, isn’t it? Well, what happens when we don’t plant seeds? Weeds grow. Here is an attempt to take charge and use this opportunity to sow some good seeds. Welcome up stage again today, Praise Fowowe… Continue Reading »

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”
Does it not amaze you that the entire world was formed with words? In a chronicle of events that led to the creation of the world, the authoritative book on earth – The bible, gives an interesting account. Interesting because in one breath, it records that God worked for 6 days, and in the same breath it alludes that all that God did, was to speak. I wondered when I was younger why God will say something and then it would be evening and it would be reckoned that he had finished the work for the day. He kept up with this work at this pace, and eventually on the seventh day, he had to rest.
What activity did God engage in to create the earth? Speaking! God spoke order into chaos, tangible into the void and light into the darkness. He spoke one component of the earth into existence one by one by his words. An historical reference book actually says that God said it, and kept on saying it, until he could see it. No wonder it was called work. I discovered by experience that when you make concious effort to confess some set of words everyday in the bid to create, it’s no mean fit.
I have read quite a number of books that allude to the power of the use of words in the creative process. I have also experienced it first hand myself. I can also point to a number of people in society whose rise and indeed fall was predicated on words that proceeded from their mouths. It is true that life and death are in the power of the tongue. In the few words ahead you are about to read, are my findings about words and how you can use them to create your future… Continue Reading »
