Where are You? -3

This article is a continuation of Where are you? – 2. I recommend strongly that you read the first two series on this so that you can understand the journey ahead of where I’ll be starting today. So far we have used the story of Joseph as a case study to understand the cardinal points in the journey of every achiever. We’ve talked about the progression of Joseph through the 6P’s in his life.

We have moved with Joseph from Padanaram (the plain ground), a place where all men seem equal, the place where Joseph learnt, and experienced the joy of being decorated with many colours.  We moved with him to the Pit, a temporary place of seeming demotion, a place of waiting without control of the period of waiting, a place where as it were your fate is being determined by others, an interview waiting room of some sort. We moved with him to Potiphar’s house, a place very much unlike home, the place of starting small and finishing strong, the career place, the place of growth and responsibility, a place of learning by doing, a place that can be mistaken for the palace, also a place of testing. We have in our journey with Joseph moved with him through all these phases, and just witnessed a swift turn of events as the man Joseph is wrongly accused and heads for the next P of his life, the prison! Sex 102

The article you are about to read, are the words of Praise Fowowe, he has already been introduced on this site, and as a function of my belief in his vision as a token of my support for his work, I’m going to be featuring him once a week to regularly on this site.

Sex is a topic that cuts across every level, every race and every tribe. It’s a common ground for the rich and the poor, the sanguine and the phlegmatic, the employee and the entrepreneur. The things that all humans struggle with are the same things, just in different forms. When we come to ourselves, we always feel guilty about doing wrong, but we have grown to rationalize the current way of life, and find some comfort for ourselves in the things we engage in.

If the makers and movers of condom, are not confident to use it to sleep with an AIDS patient, then people must be sick to entrust their lives into their products. If indeed there is no safe sex outside the context of marriage, if indeed premarital sex is rehearsals for infidelity, if indeed sex is a covenant, if indeed it is true that what a man ejaculates into a woman has the capacity of replicating him, if indeed every time a man lies with a woman he hands over to her his strength, his identity and his dignity, then we must learn how to be in control of our sexuality. We long for a New Nigeria where it’s citizens grow to ripe old ages and not as statistics for sexual accidents.

Please join me as we plunge into the experience and thoughts of Praise O Fowowe. Continue reading

Clubfreedom Event Update

Just in case you have been wondering what’s happening on the CF boards. Wonder no more. The International Director of Sales and Marketing for Clubfreedom International – Michael Faust will be coming to Nigeria for some seminar events in the next few Days. Michael Faust’s visit should ginger up activity on the boards, as the meeting hopefully educates people better about Clubfreedom, and what people need to do to get things working again.

Every program and product experiences a lull once in a while. I remember clearly that around such a lull was witnessed by Clubfreedom around February/March last year, until new and fresh energy came in. The days ahead will provide an opportunity to gain answers on a lot of questions on CF, and at last have a basis for trusting CF – as an company that is interested in Nigeria and Nigerians.

The Lagos Event will hold on the 27th of January, Port Harcourt on Tuesday the 29th of January and Abuja on the Wednesday the 30th of January, all 2008.

To make it for the events, you are required to register ahead with the links provided below Continue reading

Where are You? – 2

Continued from Where are you?

I recommend strongly that you read the article before this one before starting off with this. This article is a 6 points cardinal points on the journey of an achievers life, using Joseph as the case study. If you study this road map, you will be able to answer clearly where you are, and it might even arm you with what to do, to get to the place of your dreams.

One other thing I must be careful to mention is that, though we all have similar cardinal points, not all of us will get to the end of it. We are responsible for our actions in each stage of our journey, and those actions or inactions will lead to our future. It is only by adopting the attitudes of Joseph that we can enjoy the journey of Joseph. The attitudes of Joseph is however another text that is completely different from what we are currently exploring. We are exploring the key cardinal points and landmarks in the life of any achiever.

Joseph had moved from Padanaram the place of plains and equality to the Pit, a place of temporary demotion and waiting. From the Pit, he was sold into slavery to Potiphar’s house. Read on. Continue reading

Where are You?

Yesterday I had a short chat with someone dear, that I’m working with through a process, and while we were chatting I remember a study I did some years ago. It was a study that helped me define where I was in my life’s journey, and it proved useful to a lot of people I have shared it with since then. I have had the opportunity of sharing it with quite some crowd of people, and I was wondering why I had never shared it with my online friends here.

It’s a study that helps you see life as a journey and helps you analyze where you are in the scheme of things. I first spoke about this research 10yrs ago, back then I titled it the 6 P’s in Joseph’s Life. All these P’s showed different stages in the journey of every human being. Not knowing where you are, can cost you dearly. So before you read on, I’m asking you today, “Where are You?” Continue reading

Fresh Opportunities

I discovered lately that it would be unfair to many, if I don’t post the fresh opportunities that exist for the grabs here on this site.  A lot of things are coming up every now and then for NNC, and it’s only fair that I at least give the world an opportunity to know.

First we are kicking off the health deal – the work involved in the Launch did not make it easy to blend the two at that time. Then the land we bought in December just got priced up by 66.7%, some members of the club have made N200,000 clean by just becoming members and not marketing anything. Also we got an interesting opportunity from a development organization to do training worth N72,000 for members for free in March, 2008.

We are also giving members an opportunity to invite their friends for a marketing and re-orientation presentation on the NNC at 2pm on Sunday the 20th of January and for members to be available for a brainstorming session at 4pm on the same day.

For a full list of these amazing opportunities and  more, please read on. Continue reading

Sex 101

I decided to do something really interesting today, I invited a guest facilitator to come and facilitate a “let’s talk about sex, no holds barred session” for all of us in Generis Solutions. I had met Praise Fowowe only a few days ago, and had been so impressed with him and his work, I was eager to make everyone hear him.

The session went well, it was an opportunity to see and know ourselves better, and an opportunity to do a self introspection and level up with where we were as individuals and where we are going. If 9/10 men become unfaithful in their marriages, and 9/9 who engage end up their lives in funny and mysterious circumstances, the best we can do for our future is educate ourselves and be in control. After the 2hrs sex talk section, I decided to interview Praise Fowowe. Please Read on and Enjoy Continue reading

Uzoamaka!

Names have meaning in Africa, real meanings. African’s don’t bear names like brown, white, stone and names without significance. Nigerian names in particular like Hebrew names have deep meanings. Some of them are prophetic names, names that carry an aura and have a confidence bolstering effect on the child that bears it. In challenging moments, a Nigerian child typically draws inspiration from his or her name. My name is Adeolu Akinyemi, that literally means the crown of God and one who should be courageous. Being the crown of God means that I will be seen and I will be heard, I will not just be seen, I will be seen together with the divine, it also means there is something about me that has to do with authority, I’m a symbol of leadership e.t.c. Don’t you just want to name your child Adeolu? LOL.

Uzoamaka on the other hand, is my daughters Ibo name. It means the road is beautiful or may the road be smooth or good. It’s not a name that speaks for her alone, it’s name that speaks of us her parents as well. One word I can say most clearly describes my experience in the course of championing the course of the New Nigeria Club is Uzoamaka, the road has been smooth. The buy-in from reputable Nigerians has been phenomenal. The response from corporate organizations has been stunning and from intelligent people, awesome. The high point in my day today for example, was seeing Mrs Oby Ezekwesili (the VP of the World Bank and former honorable Minister of Education) from a distance, and wondering how to meet with her, wondering if she’ll remember me from the last time I saw her over 5 months ago. As fate would have it, we coincidentally met outside the building of the event, and I approached her. Her response shocked me and still stuns me as I write. She turned to me, shook my hands with pride and excitement and said, “wow, look at this young man, how is the New Nigeria Club initiative going?” I was shocked that she not only remembers me, but knows what we are currently working on. This is a woman I respect so much, hold in high esteem, and we had gotten a recommendation from Prof Pat Utomi to approach. She was aware, excited and only needed updates about NNC. The road is indeed smooth. Continue reading
