Clubfreedom SECURITY Alert

Posted by Adeolu Akinyemi @ July 19th, 2007 |

All countries have crooks, but it pains my heart to the bone marrow when I see fraudulent Nigerians creating a bad impression of all of us. I’m particularly pained as I write this, when will this stupid young fellas (some of them old too) stop messing us all up?! When???

I think they will only stop when we don’t tolerate them anymore. We need to start now! Many businesses run from here regularly, you know why? Because they get the first introduction with the wrong people. We have had quite some instances of companies deliberately cutting Nigerians off, why? Fraudsters! They are everywhere I guess, but why do they try so hard to mess things up for the rest of us. If we know them and keep silent we are one and the same, the thieve that steals the oil is as guilty as the one storing it for him.

Just today I discovered that one person had hacked over 10 CF accounts of his fellow Nigerians and perhaps more, replaced their emails and passwords, and had actually cashed out one of their ecash wallet accounts. If you can no longer access your account, if you didn’t forget your username and password, send your complaints to CF straight, you are about to be robbed by Kelvin and his cohorts. It’s disheartening!

One of my down lines complained to me that she had not seen any mail on her cycle, and her password could no longer access her account. I tried to raise the issue with a CF contact I have and I discovered to my dismay today, that someone else had actually changed the passwords of three of her accounts and had also reaped the rewards of the first cycles of one of her downlines. We also discovered over 10 other accounts that this same guy had dabbled into, pls check your accounts!

Also do not use easily to decipher passwords, like using your first name as your password. Make your passwords a bit difficult to guess. Let’s put these boys (and perhaps men, girls and women) out of business. Secure your revenue.

If your password is not working complain to CF… or try using jehovah as your password. This thieve currently uses this as his generic password. There are moves on now to apprehend him, as soon as he is apprehended I will publish his full details, either that, or his details will come out live early next week.

To all my dear clubfreedom colleagues, let’s chase those crazy bald heads out of town!

(I decided not to post this again as of yesterday when it was written. As I write these words, the guy has been apprehended by the police. He confesses to having changed the passwords on 17 different accounts. He says he just tries out the names of the user and if it works, he changes the email and passwords. He is a 17yr old boy. He is being dealt with by the police, I am also thinking of arranging for him to come over to my office everyday for 1-2weeks to come and learn how not to be a yahoo-yahoo. I think he needs disciplining as well as reforming. On a final note, I want to say that it would have been difficult to apprehend him were it not for the cooperation and support of Demilola, Josh and Bisola.)

Haba!! Nigerians will not stop at anything to take innocent peoples money! plz Deolu just reform him with some “freedom” slaps, b4 reformation can begin! to think that i registered 4 CF only 2day! thanks for this info deolu…u r always current.

  2. Bukunmiomidiran responds:

This is really disheartening. I feel so bad about this. It just goes to show the extent to which our dear country has degenerated. We need to really be on a national course to correct this evil. Its either we stand up to it or these crooks continue to deprive us of the wonderful opportunities that the flat-world provides. Deolu,Demilola, Josh and Bisola, thanks so much for this deliverance.

  3. babykinky responds:

hi deolu, this is terrible! a 17 yr old? robbing people! im so scared. he must be dealt with ruthlessly.only god knows how these boys get these evil ideas. its disheartening.

  4. oludunamis responds:

@ 17yrs, i was preoccupied with passing my jamb and getting a descent education. what is our society turning into

  5. Abidemi Oderinlo responds:

It’s really disheartning to find out that such a young kid could be up such a bad saga. although i get to see even primary school kids going to café to scam on craigslist…uumm!! its a big shame, so bad that cry sometimes when i hear it. it is something i have been through before and i hope the whole of Naija will realise that the country itself is in a really bad shape, the orientation of our kids needs to be changed, although I am 23, but i feel more matured when i see a 40something years old man walking into a café just to commit crime.
We have to pray oo, ani lati gbadura gidigidi….

Funny enough, as i was about to take my bath this morning, one of my pals just rushed in and told me that the guy that robbed me off one of my customers phone as been caught..i had to go there and see, he was someone i know but he never knew all i gave out was his description and now they got him, and when he saw me this morning..He was almost in hell bcos they’ve beaten mud into his skull. Maybe i will drop that story later.. got to see whats around here now..

  6. demilola responds:

    @all,
What really happened in kelvin’s case was shocking and disheartening….but he will face the music

Deolu, i give you back the credit because you care so much about other pple.

Hope this will never happen again as we have all changed our passwords and learn how to combat cyber crime everyday.

    it is well with us

  7. kenny responds:

    Chairman,

Na wao. you know i complained to you about this problem. I have 3 of my downlines now that could not enter into their boards. please can you let us know how to raise a ticket for this type of problem.

May God continue to help you sir.

  8. Dr Lekan Otulana responds:

Thank you Deolu and the other guys for all your efforts. It is really a pity what our country is turning into. About 2-3 weeks ago I got an email from CF notifying me of my password. I was really concerned about this as I did request for a reminder of my password. Although I have so many slots in CF I know all the passwords for them. Incidentally this happened just when my earliest slot entered into traveller position. Instead of lodging a ticket with clubfreedom what I did was to change the password (more complex) of all my slots and I now use a different password for my wallet (diferrent from that of CF sign in). I was really skeptical that somebody somewhere may be playing games. Not when I was close to getting my reward from CF. Only God can save us from these yahoo-yahoo.

  9. Adeola responds:

When will this ever stop.I am currently woking in the u.k.
I get emails regularly via our official intranet warning us of latest SCAMS.
guess what?they always specifically mention mails and phone calls from Nigeria.I love my country and I am proud of Nigeria, but one gets loads of people looking at you suspiciously when u say u are a Nigerian or from Nigeria.
We can fight corruption,we can be good ambassadors for our beloved country.lets not give up.lets expose these guys and improve the image of nigeria.
because of the bad image associated with nigerian and SCAMs, I find it really difficult to discuss clubfreedom with any British national because I know they will think its the usuall SCAM and that I have joined “them”.
I know things will get better.Lets start from our own Jerusalem!

  10. OLUSOGA responds:

I HOPE THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH SEFTEG, BECAUSE I HAVE SOME COINS WITH THEM, WELL YOU HAVE ONES SAID THAT ONE SHOULD JUST PUT IN COINS THAT ONE CAN EASILY OVER LOOK. I DECIDED TO REACH OUT TO THEM TODAY, 20th,JULY AND ALL THE PHONE NUMBERS ON THEIR RECEIPT COULD NOT GO THRU, PLEASE CHAIRMAN DEOLU COMMENT IS REQUIRED.

  11. Gideon responds:

Ridiculous it may sound, but we all need to be on the look out for these criminals who are determined to tarnish Nigerian image. I must commend the effort of Deolu, Josh etal for your good work and raising the awareness of Nigerians to this dastardly act. So also Nigeran Police, for not compromising.
    Bravo!

    @Josh
I can not sign in using one of my usernames. I will send an email to you later.
    Cheers!

  12. Ilemobade responds:

The young man may not be 17, I have to see his birth certificate to believe that crap. Is his parent/guardian not aware that he stole such a huge sum? I hope the law that established Club freedom stated that participants must be more than 18yrs old. If the young man can commit identity theft by adding a few years to his age then he should face the music.
My perspective is that he should be made to spend two days in prison and on the third day he would have seen enough and experience enough to discard all his bad characters so that he won’t commit the same identity theft at Generis Solutions.
@Chairman, You’ve have to be careful with that young man. Surprisingly, two young men who specialized on robbing ladies through the manipulative usage of the motorcycle were caught by the mob at Onipanu yesterday morning. I didn’t felt sorry for them when they were executed by the mob when the mob sets fire on them. Funny enough, the glamourous handbag they snatched from the lady only contained two pieces of ten naira notes and two pieces of five naira notes.
The manner the lady raised the alarm after the handbag was snatched gave the professional cyclist the impulse and energy to pursue them. A danfo driver play a big role by knocking down the thief and his accomplice.
Those boys should be btw the ages of 25 to 31. If they could be executed because of #30 only?
The young man should thank his stars that he was even being offered a tuition free reformatory education. I hope his great grandfather is a prayer warrior, his spirit calming the wind and mediating for the preservation of his offspring.
From the tone of the above message, I felt that Chairman must have felt that whosoever must have done that must be an adult. I understand that realizing that the criminal is a teenager softens the tone of the Chairman.
Nevertheless, whatever the crime the guy committed is a reflection of the attitude of our political leaders who unceremoniously finds themselves in a public position they were not qualified for. It is disheartening that majority of our political leaders that do not even understand anything about investment only became a governor in a forthnight and turned to a billionare the next day.
At Chairman, I don’t think that the Guy should be allow to enjoy his loot. I don’t think he should have spend all the money within a month. Investigate a bit so that the person who lost his/her money to the thief will be able to salvage part of it.
Good work by Demilola, Josh, and Bisola.

  13. Dotun responds:

Naijasssssss!!!!Anyways, thx for doing a great job in that respect.i’m sure if we keep harrasing them like this, they will turn a new leaf.Meanwhile, remember to post the profile of the young chap ,Kelvin. We’ll like to know him.
To you,Josh,Demilola, and Bisola….Keep up the good work.

  14. Okojie responds:

I hope there are no more Kelvin and his cohorts out there bcos this people operate in groups, and they beleive that once one door is closed another will open, and that there are serveral roads into a market place. I will advice the CF people to update the security of the site regularly, bcos these people are hackers and will try to break in anyhow, they use sophisticated password breakers, they did it to western union, e-gold, e-bay etc. Kelvin really needs to tell the police how he did it. To you, Josh, Demilola, and Bisola, you did a great job.

  15. maria responds:

Good work deolu, josh, demilola, bisola!
    God bless u ol.

  16. goodguy responds:

    This is really amazing.

But then again, a 17 yr old isn’t that young either. This era that we’re presently in, has validated the popular saying that ‘Age is nothing but a number’. You’ll be surprised at what even 8 - 12 yr olds are up to these days.

  17. goodguy responds:

    @ Deolu

Could you please tell us how you guys got the culprit? I mean, how did you get his details and everything? How did you go about it?

  18. smilie responds:

Thanks to all of you who helped in bringing this guy to justice!!!!!!

I don’t understand why people won’t let us good people be, why they will come and try to ruin one of the good on-line businesses we have here.

    What can i say………….It’s a crying shame.

Thanks Deolu for all your inspiration.

  19. sunday awotayo responds:

i love your good work for your felow Nigerians but is it possible to get you to come give a talk toan audience in zaria. whats the cost inplication.

  20. ebenezer responds:

    Deolu & co,

Good work, well done the Lord will reward you all,let us put all our effort together and eradicate this cankerworm that is eating deep into our nation.

The main stay of this fraudulent activities and corruption in the society is that we celebrate “thieves” ,sudden wealth, overnight riches in the society without asking for their sources of wealth with chieftancy titles by the traditional rulers, honourary doctorate degree by the universities ,baba ijo in the church and baba adini in the mosque, its not good news for our society.

Let start celebrating achievers, dedicated nigerian, hardworking and value adding individual and the society to start looking down on looters both in public and private business.

  21. sheye isiade responds:

i actually want to say a big weldone to you on behalf of all clubfreedom members. these guys are a sort of menace to the society. keep up the good work and hope that all clufreedon members will change their accounts as you ealier said. also, a suggestion for all! don’t view your status in cyber cafes. thanks.
will like to have the profile of the chap.

  22. Jide responds:

This just goes to show that CF members should pay attention to basic practices of online security. Here are a few tips..
    1. Never use weak passwords-such names, places, pets or birth dates..etc
    2. Use a combination of lower and upper case letters and digits of at least 8 characters for ur passwords
3.Try as much as possible not to use the same passwords u use on other sites.
    4. Try as much as possible not to use public computers and if u must use them use the on-screen virtual keyboard-its there in programs-accessories-accessibility from start menu in Windows XP-this will protect u from key loggers usually found in public computers.
    5. change ur passwords periodically

We must continue to ensure we discourage these lazy vermins by consicously ensuring we properly secure our accounts.

  23. biosfrank responds:

Kudos to mr chairman & his team!
It is so disheartening that such an ugly incidence was traced to a citizen of this our recovering great nation. However, I wish to ascertively state here that no matter the activities of such hoodlums, our great nation will continue to move foward towards overshadowing them and all their evil activities with the good of her majority citizens. Let’s all hands be on deck to continue to discouradge and fight against such acts and their perpetrators.
Pls Deolu, ensure that the guy reproduce all his loots.

  24. ife responds:

    kudos to you

  25. concerned fella responds:

Hello Deolu, and thanks so much. i have tried to login to my account and 3 of my downlines all to no avail. i have sent a mail to club freedom and hopefully it will be resolved soon. thanks as always for your help. pls help.

  26. Tunrayo Ogunsusi responds:

Hey, good work - “Eku ise” I noticed someone mentioned in his/ her comment that you should tell us how you apprehended the thief. Well in as much as we are curious, I don’t know if its such a wonderful idea cos just as the good guys read this blog so the bad guys read it too. So, if you disclose it, some culprit out there might not be as easy to apprehend - “abi ki le ni mo so? “

  27. uzezi responds:

it is terrible what is happening in this country. the bad thing is that these people rubbish everyone of us, we don’t even know who can be sincere anymore, because the temptation is way too much

  28. Lawal K. responds:

i just told a friend of mine the exact same thing today. he used his first name as his password and i explained that with a change of email add and pasword, the cf slot is gone. i’ve changed mine and tell my downlines to do the same.
here’s a good hint for forming a password (i got it from an online class i took with Hp). take the chorus or the first line of a song that you know well or like, for example lemme use this one “Till the day my life is through, this i promise you”. i think its a westlife song (not as if i like em). take the 1st letter of each word, use “d” for “the”, “4″ for “for”, use “2″ for “to” and “u” for “you”. thus the password from that song could be “tddmlittipu”. WHO GO BREAK THIS KIND THING? you can even get badder by using upper and lower case of alphabets and a space in the middle somewhere.

  29. skybaba responds:

Ebenezer, you yarn well no be small.

We celebrate fraudsters and looters. We honour them without questioning them.
Most of us, if our brothers travelled abroad for a short while and comes back home with Jeep, we say “the guy na SHARP guy”.

A lot of hardworking people in Diaspora are frustrated by family members and friends because they get looked-down upon because they don’t send money, clothes and cars home regularly.

The guy that went to Holland for a month and came back to build a mansion is a Super-Star, while the guy that went to the US for 3 years and came back with some small change is a failure.

In the words of Ebenezer “Let start celebrating achievers, dedicated nigerian, hardworking and value adding individual and the society to start looking down on looters both in public and private business.”

    God Bless Everyone!!!!!!!!

  30. Martins responds:

Its quite disheartening to hear of such an act from the little brat. Well my advice is to pay attention to your passwords and be careful of the system you use, most especially those that uses cyber cafe and always ensure that you check your account regularly before you circle out, in case you detect some foul play, quickly raise an eyebrow or rather contact your upline.

  31. ajiifixing responds:

been investing on http://www.workingforexinvestment.com but culdnt withdraw my investment/profit. the withdrawals are pending for over 2 weeks. abi na ‘electronic money’ i dey reap since.someone pls help me out!!!!

  32. wahley responds:

    @ ajiifixing,

that’s almost the norm with a lot of this guys nowadays. i suggest you read this post http://www.wonderbanks.blogspot.com/

the list fictitious tracing sites far outnumber the genuine ones so do spend wisely and steer clear of these guys

  33. Wale responds:

Hello Nigerians, I am here to tell you to be security alert. Some guys are so bad in Nigeria that they hack different accounts of fellow investors. This is too bad harvesting where they have not planted.

I will advise you all not to access your accounts through the links in your e-mail as it is easy for those stupid hackers to get you from there.

When you log on to any web site, please be sure that you are in the intended site so that you do not submit your detail information to the-so-called “HACKERS”.

When you subscribe for you e-gold account, please keep your paraphrase known to you alone and if possible access your account through an explorer powered by Mozilla where you can easily clear you personal details.

If you do not have Mozila, do not worry I am here to support you with technical info. Just follow these processes after accessing your account in a public cafe:

    Security Part A

    1) Open an internet page
    2) Click on tools
    3) Click on internet options
    4) Click on clear history
    5) Click on OK

    Security Part B
    1) After 5 above, click on settings
    2) Click on view files
    3) Click on ‘edit’ next to ‘file’ @ the uppermost left
    of the page
    4) Click on select all
    5) press the delete key
    6) Confirm deletion by pressing OK

With these you will at least be free from risk of being hacked.

For more information on security of your accounts please send mail to info@teeworldventures.com

  34. eldoz responds:

i just cycled out from club freedom and to my dismay i got a mail from one bev@cfmails.biz asking me for my wallet number so that she can transfer funds into my account - is this normal? i have however created a support ticket to clubfreedom telling them of this scenario.
is this a scam or what?

  35. Jide responds:

@eldoz. I can tell you certainly that this is not normal practice. When you cycle out CF pays your money to your e-wallet and sends you an e-mail confirming it. They will not ask you for your wallet number because they already know it!!!!. You did the right thing by sending an e-mail to CF support. BEWARE do not reveal your wallet number or password to anyone via e-mail!!!!!
