The Empty Tomb!
This is indeed a very long weekend, it’s easter weekend and that means we have Friday and Monday as holidays, or what my English friends will call bank holidays. It’s been impressive to see though, that many people across the world have been very active online even during this break. It’s been a good and necessary break for me, I’ve had a little time to rest, I’ve also had the opportunity of speaking at an event over this long weekend. The title of my presentation was Taking Charge in Interviews and it was very fulfilling.
Back to the season we are in - Easter! Thinking about easter brings back to my memory a lot of good things. I think about the fact that the tomb of Jesus is reputed to be one of the biggest tourist sites in Jerusalem. Thinking about that I ask the question, “What are they looking for?” Can you imagine thousands of people queuing up to see an empty grave? Someone said this is the only tourist site where people travel from far and wide and queue up from day till night to see nothing! Isn’t that profound? That’s the joy of the season, he that died did not stay dead, but rose.
I believe that this season is a reminder to all of us, that beyond our struggles exist triumph, beyond our battles there is victory. There is no glory without story, no crown without a cross, no conqueror without a conquest, not winner without a challenge. The sun arises long after the moon has set. The hour before dawn is darkest. Many of us are not satisfied with our current predicaments. Many of us are tired of where we are, dissatisfied with what we do and unhappy about the present. Don’t loose hope, he who must arrive in the palace must pass through the servants quarters.
The worst, darkest and most horrible Friday in the world is now globally recognized as good Friday. That dark situation in your life, that painful occurrence, that sad story, that miserable experience is soon going to be labeled differently. Your dark Friday is soon to become a good Friday. Rather than say you suffered you will say you learnt. Rather than lament, you will rejoice, rather than date it as a day of calamity you will recognize it as a day instrumental to the greater days ahead.
Jesus made a profound statement when he said if you destroy this temple, in three days I will raise it up again. In three days, our entire life plays out. You have three days that are important in the formation of your destiny. Just three days! None of us have more than the other. If you miss the use of these three days then you will perish with history. The three days are, yesterday, today and tomorrow! Today is the influence you have over tomorrow, yesterday is the experience you leverage on today, to create your desired tomorrow. Tomorrow is a new day, tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life. As long as you don’t die today, you are qualified for tomorrow.
Cheer up my friend, whatever you are going through will pass. Whatever you are looking forward to will happen. Your desires and aspirations will be met. You will totally forget yesterday’s pains, you will not remember todays travails. The joy of tomorrow will be so great you will forget the painful pasts. It will come to pass. Your life will become a tourist attraction, people will look at you for a reason why you should not be happy and find none. Tell somebody today… It will come to pass!

Hi Adeolu Akinyemi,
Happy Easter! Still i looked at your statement and agree it with a chinese saying. It takes 3 days for a person to turn BAD but 3 years to become good all over again.
Profound generates more profound isn’ it.
You have a great blog, hope to make a good pact in future!See ya around sometime.=)
yet another collection of wise sayings. All our pains and sorrows will surely come to pass. I use this opportunity to wish everyone a happy Easter celebration. HE HAS RISEN INDEED.
Happy easter sir and thanx for the beautiful easter message, tomorrow will definetly bring joys that will wipe away the sorrows and pains of today.
Happy easter to everyone too and may the reason for the season reflect in our lives. “He died and rose again to save us”. So there is no reason why you should carry that sickness or feel that pain or carry that burden of sin and the guilt of sin anymore. He came and TOOK away our infirmities and to make us whole, his blood was also shed to wash our sins away and to make us come bold to the throne of grace.
So lets rejoice, cos as He said on the cross to all our sickness, pains, sins etc… IT IS FINISHED!
Pastor Adeolu, that’s a great and powerful message from the throne and am lifted. thanks
Happy Easter in arrears to all the correct guys and ladies in the house, many happy return of the day!
May we know Him (Jesus) the more in all our pursuit, because in Him we move, live and have our being.
You all are lifted this month!
great message. and also inspiring.
How is GFS going on.
You have not responded to my question on refferal commissions. is it one off or will it continue
hi deolu ur easter message is indeed deep. i think on seeing u (ur big afro ) one immediately understands…..joke…. where these insightful words are coming from.u’re indeed a big blessing
@ fatai
The referral commissions are not one off. They are accrued monthly…for as long as the person you referred is in. GFS is doing very well, and is still open to customers…
Job said all the days of my afflicted life will i wait until my change comes. At times i wish we could know exactly how long our predicarments will last. Jesus knew that he will be in the grave for 3 days. Thank God that we know that in all this things we are more than victorious.
It is indeed astonishing to note that a great number of people queue up for long periods to see ‘nothing’. We spend most of today agonising over yesterday, then wonder where on earth the whole time went.
It is a profound truth - The Tomb is empty! Halleluyah
Hi.Thanx 4 the easter greetings.Hope u had a good one too?
It’s interesting only ten responses have come up on this so far, I can imagine what it will be like if Deolu mistakingly mentioned SEFTEG somewhere in-between…
However it’s good to know that the Cross is empty, the tomb is empty but the throne is occupied! The Lord is alive after all; the high priests story of him being stolen is so baseless…Jesus is Alive.
Here is another reason to be rich and have financial freedom, ‘He became poor that we all - you and I - might be rich.’ it’s yours friend.
Happy Easter folks.
This season is the highlight of our faith… that Christ indeed and in love willingly chose to be a living sacrifice to redeem and reconnect us with the Father, the giver and source of life…that we might be called the sons of God!
Happy brilliant and glorious future to all!
Always stay connected!
The empty tomb signifies the essence of our faith. Resurrection is the baseline of the hope that we have. Thank God, He’s risen!
As it’s been said, easter is what gives meaning to Christmas. There is no greater love than a man should lay down his life for a friend..
