My people say that the house of a king that gets burnt only adds beauty to it. I believe that this will be the case with this current post, because this is my second time of writing it all over from scratch. I actually wrote one and posted yesterday night only to wake up this morning and discover that I slept shortly after, and the link timed out as well. I refreshed my site and the latest post wasn’t there. I however am not distracted in my mission.
Just last week, I wrote about Reward and Recognition and wrote extensively about an experiment I intended using to reward loyal readers on this site. The details of this is available here. In summary however, I asked the first 10 people to signify their interest in participating in this experiment to deposit N50,000 in my account. I informed them that they would be required to mail articles from this site, using the email this post link on each of the posts to an average of 100 people per month (about 3+ per day), while they do this, I promised to work hard to return N220,000 each to the 10 participants within the next 90 days. In the course of the week, two deadlines were set to have the 10 participants pay in. Interestingly, 9 participants paid in, opening up one slot still to all others. Instead of setting another deadline though, I have decided to make this one slot open to as many of all the others that indicated their interest in the experiment before today-31st March, 2007. How will this work? Read on. Continue Reading »

In the past few weeks I have learnt so much more about all of these schemes that the information has been inundating. I have over 10 articles in my mind as I speak and am always so concerned about not posting them all so close together that I cause constipation for my readers. Believe me, I could post 3 articles every day for the next 3 days, only I feel that might be too much. Maybe your feedback will help me… should I post them all now??
Yesterday, I had the opportunity of sitting with one of the MD’s of the High Yield Investment Programs, it was exciting meeting, more for him than it was for me. In his words, this meeting with me was God sent, and I might have given him a solution to a problem that had always bothered him. He went on to reveal a few of the secrets of his trade and of the trade of a few other companies that use the same template as him. What you are about to read may surprise you. Continue Reading »

I have been seeing series of complaints on this site from people informing me that once a post gets more than 10 comments some of them begin to fade into the edges. I wondered exactly what they were talking about, until someone showed me how my site loads on his system and how so many comments become unreadable. I felt bad, so people were actually going through this type of hassles to read?
It became an assignment for me to get this problem solved. I was going to do all in my power to make browsing through this site easy and enjoyable. I was happy though, that at least, I had a challenge in my hand; those that don’t have wars, have no victories. I’m glad to tell you that it’s done… I checked it again today and everybody should be able to see all the comments now, even when they get to 1000
. I also think it’s a good idea to use this opportunity to solicit for ideas on what we can do to make your experience on this site even better. Continue Reading »

Let us travel together on a trip of imagination. Let’s imagine way back when the world was created, let’s imagine the first human being ever created. For the sake of this imagination, let’s assume that man was made in the morning. What realities do you think will hit him/her as the day progresses?
I know we might all have different answers, but I’m certain we will agree on this one point, around noon, man will get hungry, and would crave for something to fill his stomach. He might start by experimenting with lovely looking fruits – Apples, berries, oranges e.t.c. Have you ever seen a craving that goes unsatisfied? Do you know anything that human beings craved that they have not created? Authoritative books about the story of creation and even archaeological evidence show that the eaten came before the eater and the dwelling before the dweller. Grass came before the goat, water before the fish and the skies before the birds. Do you have a craving for anything? Be happy, because that is proof that it certainly exists. Continue Reading »

In Human Resources Management, the topic above is very familiar. We need to understand how we intend to reward and recognize our people. Different people are motivated by different things, hence people developing reward systems need to be aware of what people consider as rewarding.
In the theory of motivation, there is also what is called Herzberg’s hygiene factors – Some things might not be enough to make you leave a company, but they are enough to make you not think of leaving. What seems rather amazing however, is that the things that are hygiene factors are sometimes thought about by many as motivational factors. Herzberg was able to identify some of the elements classified as hygiene to include: company cars, salary, relationship with boss or subordinates, status and security. Does this shock you? He then identified the real motivators as achievement, recognition, work itself, personal growth, responsibility and advancement.
This month, also being the birthday of this site, I am in a great mood. Hence aside of the competition we currently have on, that will help people to win some fantastic prices, I am hereby announcing an experiment to reward and recognize the most courageous risk takers on this site. This experiment is open to only 10 participants and it’s on a first come first serve basis. You are about to be pleasantly surprised! Continue Reading »

Of late I have had a number of calls, online buzzes and people walking directly into my office to let me know how much they appreciate the work that we are doing. It’s always a source of encouragement for me, and my team, that what we are doing is being appreciated.
I’ve got calls from people saying they got jobs through our job site, people saying their lives have changed reading these articles, and people just calling in to say thank you. I’m grateful to all these people for not concealing their feelings, but letting us know and letting us receive motivation to continue. Most importantly though, I am grateful to God, his grace and mercy have been at the heart of my progress.
I met a young man lately, he tells me he has been going to sleep every night since he came into contact with this site, reading and reading. I was shocked when he told me that reading from here has changed his life completely and what was most shocking for him, was that he has never seen me in his life, and I had so much impact on him. I took time to interview him, to understand how he has transited from scamming to legitimate business in 2 weeks. I welcome you to read this interview of a changed man. Continue Reading »

I’ve been trying as best as I can to follow the intern show. Just day before yesterday, the participants where reduced to the last 3. Two guys and a lady. Somehow I knew the final would feature these three. I had also written the topic of this post for over 4 days now, but have not been able to write it because I had other topics that took priority to this one. In fact, right now, I’m going against my normal preplanned sequence. Why? I got a call tonight from one of the interns asking for my help.
I had been watching carefully to see if my coincidence hunch would come through, it did. 2 of the last participants are actually my hommies. Some years back the two guys and myself belonged to the Student Christian Movement in Obafemi Awolowo University. Afolabi and I were in the same drama subgroup, while Ayo and I went way back to primary school. While I cannot tell about the fine details of the lives of these two participants now, I believe they have done well so far, and would have probably learnt a lot to push them forward in line with their dreams. Around 4pm today, I got a call from Ayo, he had gotten a brief for the last task, and he needs as many of us as can help him be the Intern. It’s a simple task, and I’ll need you to help him… why? Because he asked for it. Continue Reading »

In this post we’ll all try to develop a database of all the investment opportunities we want to know, we’ll also use this opportunity to ask, and get clarification on some of them. Before we do this however, I’ll like to update us all on some small investment schemes I joined in starting and how it is looking so far. As it seems, money is a big need in Nigeria.
400% returns on CDT
Based on the announcement on the Canadian diamond traders investment opportunities I announced some days back, I am glad to announce some developments. Key highlight is that everyone that joined within one week of that post has been promoted to the next level, and have 2 more levels to cycle out and earn over 400% returns. Continue Reading »

The West African Idols has become the rallying point of many family and office discussion these days. It provides a mixture of entertainment and an opportunity for Nigerians to debate and criticize. These are some of the times when not having DSTV could be really painful, as it means you’ll be an observer in most of the jokes and comments resulting from West African idols- “This is not werking for me”, “aah aah?”
Watching the West African Idols auditioning has been fantastic comic relief though. Aside of the good sides of being impressed by exceptional voices in Nigeria, one thing you cannot miss are the horrible voices who ventured to go for the audition. Why will someone make a fool of himself/herself in full public view. Isn’t it better to make the mistakes in the presence of a few friends and never again? Some people had no business whatsoever going for this event, they were either wrongly advised, deceived by their friends or lacked counsel! Talking about Counselors, do you have any? Do you have people that advice you? Is there anybody you can count on to always tell you the truth? Or are you on your own? Are you on your way to auditioning for a competition you have no chance in? Over the weekend last week, I had a speaking engagement in Ibadan. I was invited by the University of Ibadan Redeem’s postgraduate fellowship. I was asked to come and speak with them about the Christian Perspective to Investment and Business. Even though I was supposed to have two other speaking engagements on that same day, I decided to take advantage of the invitation to Ibadan to go a day earlier to see one of my mentors and board members, a business man with 10 digits annual turnover. This trip ended up being my best this year so far.
I had tried to reach him before now, but he had apparently traveled out of the country. I didn’t like the idea that we were going so fast with GFS and I hadn’t gotten his buy in. It was going to be a serious management presentation meeting, because if he isn’t aligned, GFS wouldn’t fly. I respect him that much. Our fathers say that we need not hide our nakedness from the people that will bury us when we die. What do you think? Continue Reading »
